- Welcome to LaGuardia Community College My name and titleLaGuardia's Virtual Career Center: A Demonstration of eCareer Tools Fist part will focus on development but marketing will be interweaved with the demonstration LaGuardia’s Virtual Career Center started with students voicing their dissatisfaction with our career and planning services. LaGuardia doesn’t have a traditional “career office”To improve student success, 2007 – 2008 Strategic Plan - Academic Goal: 6.1.14Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSW) 2007Office of Institutional Research http://www.ccsse.org/At LaGuardia Community College/CUNY we have developed a virtual career center to bridge existing career services across campus and provide students with a framework to develop a comprehensive career plan. The eCareer Central is a website that aggregates the College's career related websites into one place. The eCareer Plan is a career planning application students can use alone or as part of a class. Come join us for a demonstration of these tools and learn how they were developed and marketed. This session will conclude with a question and answer period. Summary This session will be a presentation of LaGuardia Community College's virtual career center bridging existing career services and providing students with a framework for career planning. Come join us for a demonstration of eCareer Central (website) and eCareer Plan (a career planning application).

- Students come with a number of strengths and challenges. Student demographics 73.3% have an income up to 25,000 living away from parents. Mostly from working class families that are first generation in college and/or first generation or immigrants in this county. Resources, support, or knowledge to reach their goals. 34% have educational aspirations to earn their BA, therefore LaGuardia is part of a longer goalTo help them reach their goals a committee was forged.
