This document is a collection of photos taken during a 2009 car cruise event in Ocean City, Maryland. The photos showcase various muscle cars, with a focus on their large rear tires and powerful exhaust and engine modification systems. They also show the event atmosphere, with shots of crowds, a colorful car, and late night walks along the streets, illuminating the sights and sounds of the busy weekend car gathering.
This document discusses neurocardiogenic syncope, specifically vasovagal syncope (VVS). It covers the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of VVS. Regarding diagnosis, it discusses head-up tilt table testing (HUTT) and implantable loop recorders (ILRs). While HUTT can help diagnose susceptibility to neurally-mediated syncope, its sensitivity, specificity, and prognostic value are limited. ILRs provide reproducible diagnostic information during spontaneous spells. Treatment focuses on non-pharmacological measures like education, salt/water intake, orthostatic training, and counterpressure maneuvers.
The document is a letter from the Huntington School's Travel and Tourism Department introducing their Applied A Level Travel and Tourism course. The course covers the travel industry over 1 or 2 years, studying 3 units each year on topics like the history of tourism, customer service, and travel destinations. Students enjoy practical opportunities like visiting a hotel to learn from staff, presenting welcome speeches as reps, and planning fundraising events. The course prepares students for careers in travel or related university programs.

This document discusses human resource management (HRM) and strategic HRM. It outlines the key activities of HRM like organizational design, staffing, performance management, and reward systems. It emphasizes that effective HRM practices like selective hiring, extensive training, self-managed teams, and pay for performance can provide competitive advantage and help organizations achieve their strategic objectives. Finally, it stresses that human resources are critical to an organization's strength and that HR policies should aim to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
This document provides information on nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and antipyretic-analgesics. It discusses the classes of NSAIDs including mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, examples of drugs, and side effects. NSAIDs work by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes and thereby reducing production of prostaglandins involved in inflammation, pain, and fever. The document also reviews antirheumatic drugs for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, as well as drugs for treating gout such as allopurinol, probenecid, and corticosteroids.
This document discusses the design of an infrared transmitter and receiver circuit to understand their working. It describes the key components used, including an IR LED transmitter that emits infrared photons, an IR photodiode receiver that enters a breakdown region when infrared photons are detected, and a circuit connecting the two with batteries and resistors. The circuit aims to demonstrate the working principles of how infrared signals are transmitted and received, with potential applications in automatic lighting, counting, security, and theft alarms.
