This document discusses the design of a power generating door that harnesses energy from door movement to generate electricity. It considers design decisions around placement of components, how relative motion will be captured, and where the generated energy will be stored or sent. A dynamo is chosen to generate power from low RPMs. Simulation results show the device can generate several watts of power from normal door usage.
