Newsletter – A digital newsletter will be going out monthly from April. SC/CG to send out.
My Old China – Artwork is progressing at this site. A press release will be going out to share the news and we will be asking for quotes from businesses on the impact. SC told the board that this will be modern art, with 3 colours on it, based on good mental health. A noticeboard will be placed on it for use of Purley BID and other community groups. CG to organise quotes.
Security – M.B-H informed the board that Tesco will be increasing their security at the Purley site. The shop has 60K visitors per week and a potential 0.01% of these could be deterred due to the increased security, meaning that local shop lifting in the wider town could increase. Some staff at Tesco have been wearing body cams and they will also now be introducing barriers at the main doors. SC said that the extra security patrols the BID will provide will commence around 6.4.21. M.B-H said that Tesco is looking forward to being more active in the community and great things in the next 5 years.
Secret Carnival Trail – SC told the board that this trail, similar to the Monster Hunt last summer, will commence on 12.4.421. A £2 donation is suggested when the first character is scanned from 10 shop windows in the Town and this money will be directed to the Purley BID Charity of the Year, South East Cancer Help Centre.
Talkbus – SC announced that, commencing in April (restrictions allowing), following discussions with Tesco, the Talkbus will be alternating its location every other month between its original site at Purley Leisure Centre and now also the Tesco carpark.
Empty Tenements – SC informed the board that he will revisit the contact who is responsible for the empty tenements to look at Meanwhile Use.
Budget
SC said that we there has been a very poor response from the Council regarding payments. Payments will be due by 1.5.21 and SC confirmed that these can be split into bite size payments. The budget has been reduced by 25% which will have an impact on the BID so invoices will need to be chased more rigorously for payment of levies. SC indicated that Tesco usually pay their invoice immediately so the budget should be sufficient for current projects. SC will update at next meeting.
SB suggested that we invite Beau to speak at the next board meeting to open discussions. MJ agreed that we should invite Beau with a caveat that the meeting remains confidential. SC indicated that Beau will be asked to attend for the last 20 minutes of the board meeting on 25.5.21.

Sharing this information
We get constantly frustrated by the constant vanity posts we see online with regards to Purley.
We are not here as a vanity project and only for the better of Purley Business.
Should we stay as we are and only post socially relevant content on projects we have delivered
Or do we shout about everything we do.
FB page Everything we deliver
FB Group Everything we do
Do we post about everything that is relevant to businesses, so rates discussions or be more consumer lead?

Meeting arranged
Meeting request
As per last board meeting we reached out to Beau to present his proposal to work for the Purley BID as a Ranger as he has seen in other BIDs. Contact him and as he did not have a clear plan suggested we have a pre meeting to present first. 26th March - 2 hrs of litter picking proposal for 35hrs week (mon- Thurs) then Friday and Saturday night.
£41k
Turn down the offer of being a town ranger on 3rd April
I'm going to stay as RECRE8 but move to an organisation / CIC company
New request sent and accepted if he would like to present ReCR8 ideas. Painful back on forth of 3 ideas he mentioned
. Purley cross engagement - island beds. / Relationship with TFL .
. Rotary field - Foot paths and out building investment / Relationship : with Croydon Council & Rotary club .
. Shop fronts - Pigion mess and rotten windows. / Relationship : With landlords to make shops
The asking if he is still wanting to present responded "I will actually be having a meeting with the council , with what I wanted to raise at the board. So I will be opting out."
Beau does not want to work with the BID
However History
October 2018
Made clear the BIDs remit - not all visible
Late 2019 early 2020 Video x 2
Calling out what the BID should do Publicly -
Invoices submitted on Purley BIDs behalf
Meetings with shops claiming to represent the BID
Going to businesses talking down the BID - Elliott's, Coughlan's, Rowlands come to us
Fountain - argument online - September 2020
Cant see what started it but accusation of humiliation from Helen
Then very negative from Jesse Williams - border line threats. Everything he can do to stop the BID
Own FB page
Invited on then kicked off for no reason what so every, very erratic

Fictitious Stuart Worden - Accountant working for Lloyd's bank - Virgin group
Fictitious £10,000 - Accountant - Donated £10k to projects - Brit School headmaster
Has been incredibly distressing with comments made such as the "BID does not care" and it "under delivers" Forums or conversation we cannot respond to on businesses behalf.
Summary
Great enthusiasm for young lad, doing work 99% people his age would not do. Good social following
However, very erratic and constantly posting for social vanity project, many post just saying he's done a great job.
Nothing but positive from Purley BID toward Beau as we are representing businesses
Turned down 4 times with our offers of support.
Much of what he does we cannot do
Uninsured work without method statements
Calling out supporters
Getting permission
Making false claims (suspect that is why he is not here)
Businesses still engage in a positive manner, but would appreciate support
All looking for the same (or similar) goals
Due to the manner he has conducted himself and the way he delivers work I think it's better that we keep completely separate.
Can work together Jointly on Purley Panel Projects
