Would you like to say a few words
Let’s show our thanks on Social Media…
The idea for this event today came from Jeremy who is with the United Way.
He suggested that it would be interesting to have a discussion around the impact of social media thru the 2013 Alberta Flood.
I thought about it and expanded the scope slightly to include a few issues that I personally am interested in and hope you feel the same.
There are many individuals that have responded during and since the flood with creative ways of helping our communities. I found ROOM IN A BOX on FB. The concept intrigued me – it seemed a way that I could personally contribute.
When I reached out to them and asked if they would be interested in giving a quick presentation to our group. Found out that THEM is actually Tamara Carmell... she is the creative behind the idea! We met for coffee and she began to tell her story – and I knew it was a story I wanted her to share with you.
Tamara...
The moderator for our panel discussion today is Ken Lima-Coehlo
(oops – I was actually going to learn how to say the name before this morning!)
Ken IS part of the, now, infamous group The HeeBee-JeeBees.
You may know them, and/or caught one of their MANY performances at the Calgary Stampede this year.
Ken was formerly with CBC, and has now found a home at the YMCA.
Thank you so much for joining us today Ken – I will give this over to you....
THANK YOU SO MUCH…
