Social Canvas FilmCamp is a hands-on approach to teaching film-making where the participants learn by actually working on their first short film. At the FilmCamp, you will write, storyboard, enact, shoot and edit your first two minute film in 2 days. While doing so, you will work closely with other participants in groups, collaborating on everything and working together as a team. The workshop would be taught and supervised by facilitators at every step of the film making process.

For whom ?
The workshop is perfectly suited for
the first time film maker. It is
intended primarily for organizations
and individuals working for social
change. However, Students,
professionals or anyone who is keen
on exploring film making and learning
the basics of the craft, and aspiring
film makers in particular will find this
workshop very useful.

3. LEARNING GOALS
By the end of the filmCamp, you will:
- Understand basics of scriptwriting, how to write
a treatment and a shooting script
-Understand the key elements of cinematography.
including lighting, composition of shots and
shooting for the edit and how to break down a
scene into shots
-Learn the basic language of cinema& editing.
-Understand how to use the editing interface
-Know how to interpret a script, create a
storyboard and manage actors
- Be able to perform the roles of director,
cinematographer, producer and editor

5. FACILITATOR
Gopal is a film maker
who studied from MICA
( Mudra Institute of Communications,
Ahmedabad).
Apart from working as an Assistant
Director on three feature films, he
has several Documentaries and Short
films to his credit. His film Sheher-e-
Ghazal was adjudged the best short
film award at VS International Arts
Festival. He is urrently working on
his debut feature film as a director.
His interests include traveling,
adventure sports and music.
