  5. 6. The number of blogs worldwide is 184 million. The number of people who read blogs worldwide is 346 million
  6. 7. But this is kids stuff right? How does it effect my business? First of all, its not just kids.

  10. 11. 2. Can Social Media help me sell things?
  11. 12. It helped Dell. $$$$$
  12. 13. It helped one of these car companies. Car purchase decided, not by the size of Xylo ads, but by the 22 recommendations here!!
  13. 14. It helps sell T-shirts..rather, it RUNS a large T-shirt business!
  14. 15. And it helped this plumber. Same could happen with a doctor, a lawyer, a stock broker.. There will be positive recommendations, as also negative…. “ Don’t go to that guy.. He’s a cheat..” etc.
  15. 16. 3. Your Reputation is made or marred online
  16. 17. Have you heard of what happened to Domino’s?
  17. 18. From YouTube to The New York Times in 3 days.
  18. 19. What are those top 10 search results about you?? Public memory may be short, but Google does not forget!
  19. 20. 4. Listening in on Social Media can provide a lot of value too.
  20. 21. Know what people are thinking about, In Real Time Are they ‘thinking of buying’ wallpaper…or diamond jewlery?!
  21. 22. There may have been no impact at all, from the Social Media chatter..to the outcome of the elections. But if the parties had listened in, they would have definitely picked up some trends. .. Same is true for brands and companies!
  22. 23. 5. Business to Business: smaller the target community, the higher the risk you carry in ignoring it!!
  23. 28. As a business, embracing Social Media is not about IF , just about WHEN - yesterday (you are already late), today (here and now) or tomorrow (still have time to breathe)… On Social Media, people are talking about your brand - with or without you being present. Social Media is not just about selling – it’s about connecting , it’s about relationships , it’s about communities , it’s about creating evangelists for your brand.
