•Numerical setup of optical Fast-OFDM waveform is developed based on
SSMF.
•FOFDM using real-valued IDCT/DCT was evaluated over SSMF.
•performance in terms of Bit Error Rate over transmission distance up to
55 km while maintaining the same spectral efficiency as OFDM.
