4. What is Android?
Operating Systems have developed a lot in last
15 years. Starting from black and white
phones to recent smart phones or mini
computers, mobile OS has come far away.
Especially for smart phones, Mobile OS has
greatly evolved from Palm OS in 1996 to
Windows pocket PC in 2000 then to Blackberry
OS and Android.
5. One of the
most widely
used mobile OS
these days is
ANDROID
. Android is a
software bunch
comprising not
only operating
system but also
middleware and
key
applications.
6. Android phones are highly customisable and as
such can be altered to suit your tastes and
needs. You can check your Facebook and
Twitter profiles through a variety of apps
making it ideal for social networking. Through
the calendar you can set reminders from your
desktop or your phone and on the latest version
of Android you can send links to and from your
computer and vice versa.
7. Another neat feature of Android is that it
automatically backs up your contacts for you.
When you set up an Android phone you’ll need
to create a Google Account or sign in with an
existing one. Every time you save a number to
the address book of your Android phone it will
be synced to your Google Account.

8. What is the Android Phone
OS ?
The Android phone operating system (OS) is an
open platform developed by Google to power
mobile devices and handsets. The idea behind
the platform is to align technology companies
with mobile companies to produce an
open operating system that can be updated by
any developer to improve the product for its
users.

9. More About Androids
Android is the name of the software developed
by Google and comes with a range of Google
features, most notably Search and Maps,
installed as standard.
10. This means you can easily search for
information on the web and for directions from
your phone, as you would on your computer.
This is handy for checking up on things like
train times and getting directions when out and
about.

11. Android
Android is the world's most popular mobile
platform. With Android you can use all the
Google apps you know and love, plus there are
more than 600,000 apps and games available on
Google Play to keep you entertained, alongside
millions of songs and books, and thousands of
movies. Android devices are already smart, and
will only get smarter, with new features you
won't find on any other platform, letting you
focus on what's important and putting you in
control of your mobile experience.
12. Android is a mobile phone operating system, it
is better than the Apple OS in my opinion, and
on par with the Windows Mobile OS except
WM lacks many apps for its OS but it is trying
to get more developers to make stuff for it.
Android offers a lot of apps in an app store,
similar to the Apple App Store.
It is basically the next best thing in mobile
devices. the iPhone is going to be overtaken.

13. Linux for Android
Android's kernel is based on the Linux
kernel and has further architecture changes by
Google outside the typical Linux kernel
development cycle. Android does not have a
native X Window System by default nor does it
support the full set of standard GNU libraries,
and this makes it difficult to port existing
Linux applications or libraries to Android.
