INTRODUCTION
 The term “WORK-LIFE BALANCE(WLB)” was Coined
in 1986,although its usage in everyday language being
made for a no. of years.
 The policies procedure established by an organization
with the goal to enable employees to efficiently do their
jobs and the same time provide flexibility to handle
personal concerns.
 There is confirmation of the fact that people entering the
workforce today are laying emphasis on the importance of
w=WLB more than their predecessors.
In today’s society it is common for employees to have many
responsibilities in their life . Examples:--
 Care commitments involving children or elderly relatives
 Education commitments that limit availability at times of the
week/month/year
 Duties OR Interests outside of work
 Needing to be available for religious observances
#A poor balance between an employee’s work
commitments and their other responsibilities can
lead to stress, high absence and low productivity
