Pluriversal Sustainable and Peaceful Ancient Japan by Yoichi Ochiai We are now able to live the lifestyle of Stationary Nomads, a term coined by media artist, Nam June Paik. While Stationary Nomad seems like a contraction in terms, we can accomplish being in different scenarios simultaneously thanks to the metaverse and internet. This shift to a Stationary Nomad lifestyle, I believe, is akin to a paradigm shift as great as the transition from the hunter/gatherer community to an agricultural society. I contend that Japanese Buddhist philosophy of the multi-faceted nature of humans, characterized by Buddhas portrayed with multiple heads and limbs, and the simple lifestyle of the Jomon period which lasted for 10,000 years of peace from 16,000 BC can bring value by allowing the adoption of a non-binary view of lives and communities in the post-digital age.
