4. What is an End User?
The term "end user" refers to the consumer of a good or service,
often who has some innate know-how that is unique to consumers.
In a literal sense, the term end user is used to distinguish the
person who purchases and uses the good or service from
individuals who are involved in the stages of its design,
development, and production.
End User Experience
Since end customers are frequently laypeople without specialized
expertise or training, businesses must make sure that the user
experience is simple, intuitive, and efficient. User experience (UX)
has developed into a distinct profession, with UX teams working
on a wide range of products for numerous companies in a variety
of sectors.
6. CLASSIFICATION OF USERS
There are different types of environmental users that are Personal user, Corporate user, Passive
Users, Semi-active users and Active Users.

There are different types of frequency
of users that are frequent, constant
and occasional.
8. System Software
System software is designed to control and
manage the hardware and other resources of
the system and is pre-installed with the
operating system.
Application Software
Application software is designed to accomplish
tasks for a specific purpose based on user
requests and is third-party software that can
be downloaded and installed according to user
needs.
9. Difference
It acts as an interface between
application software and the system.
System Software
Hosted on the platform, which is
provided by the system software.
Application Software
System software can run
independently.
Application software cannot run
independently and need the
presence of system software.
It acts as a platform and runs in the
background.
Runs in the foreground and
performs a task based on user
requests.
11. Application Software
Application software is a computer program that performs a
specific function, be it educational, personal, or business. It is also
known as an end-user program or a productivity program. Each
application is designed to assist users with a particular task that
may be related to creativity, productivity, or communication.
12. Examples of Application
Software
A suite of Microsoft products such as MS Office, PowerPoint, MS Word,
Excel, and Outlook.
Internet browsers like Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
Graphics and design software such as Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, and
AutoCAD.
Real-time online communication tools like Skype, Hangouts, Google Meet,
Zoom, and WhatsApp.
Multimedia and music streaming software such as MX Player, VLC Media
Player, Spotify, Pandora, etc.
Project management software like Asana, Zoho, Slack, Forecast, etc.

16. Web Browsers
These types of application software assist the users in
accessing websites and conducting research. Prevalent
web browsers are Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, MS
Edge, Safari, etc.
Word Processors
Word processor software allows formulation,
beautification, and manipulation of text. Examples of
application software are Appleworks, Wordpad, Notepad,
Google Docs, Microsoft Word Docs, etc.
17. Education Software
Education software makes it easier to conduct lectures
with visual and auditory experiences to make learning
fun and easy. Standards of education software include
Blackboard, Schoology, Google Classroom, TalentLMS,
Ms Teams, etc.
Graphic Software
Graphics software allows easy editing of visual data. It
makes room for picture editing and illustration. Examples
of application software include Adobe Photoshop and
Paint Shop pro.
18. Enterprise Application
Enterprise applications are designed to integrate computer systems
that run all phases of an enterprise’s operations to facilitate cooperation
and coordination of work across the enterprise. The intent is to integrate
core business processes (e.g., sales, accounting, human resources,
inventory and manufacturing). The ideal enterprise system could control
all major business processes in real time via a single software
architecture on a client/server platform.
Industry-Specific Application
Industrial software is a collection of application programs, processes,
methods and functions that can aid in collection, manipulation and
management of information on an industrial scale. Sectors that make use
of industrial software include operations, manufacturing, designing,
construction, mining, textile mills, chemicals, food processing and service
providers.
19. SOLUTIONS
Spreadsheet Simulation Software Application
Spreadsheet application software is majorly used to perform
calculations—this software stores data in a tabular format in rows and
columns. The intersecting cells are separated to define text, date,
time, and number fields. It allows the users to perform various
calculations and functions using different formulae. Microsoft Excel and
Google Sheets are examples of spreadsheet software.
Simulation software is a kind of application software used in
industrial training, robotics, flight systems, weather forecast, video
games, etc. It replicates life-like conditions when the actual system or
physical environment can be hazardous or inaccurate. It is a program
that lets you study or observe an operation or phenomenon through
simulation without doing that operation. Augmented Reality and Virtual
Reality technologies are also used to develop application software that
supports simulations. MATLAB is the finest example of simulation
software.
20. Planning and Scheduling
The process of planning primarily deals with selecting the
appropriate policies and procedures in order to achieve the
objectives of the project. Scheduling converts the project
action plans for scope, time cost and quality into an operating
timetable. These sort of software applications are primarily
used in Personal digital assistants. Examples APS, Blue etc.
Presentation Software
Presentation software enables you to put forth your thoughts and
ideas quickly and clearly in a piece of visual information. Then, it
lets you display the information in the form of slides. Adding text,
images, graphs, and videos can make your slide more informative
and engrossing. Microsoft PowerPoint is a good example of
presentation software. Other software are Keynote, Google Slides,
etc.
21. Desktop Publishing Computer
Application System Software
Desktop publishing (DTP) is the use of personal computers to
design books and booklets that are intended to be printed by ink
jet or laser printers. The software that supports desktop
publishing has a WYSIWYG graphical user interface (GUI) to make
the set-up for publishing as easy as possible. Example Canva, MS
Publisher, etc.
Website Development
The webdev application is a type of application software for the
web, built using technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
In simpler terms, a web dev app is a website that looks and feels
like an app instead of a website. Web users can browse on their
browser with an URL just like every other website; however, they
get the experience of using an “app” that can create other online
platforms. Example Adobe Dreamweaver, WIX, etc.
