The document summarizes the results of a questionnaire given to the target audience of a music magazine. Most respondents said they were attracted to the magazine based on its appearance, including the main image, colors, fonts, and coverline. The majority also felt the color scheme and fonts fit the genre, the contents page was clear, and the magazine looked professional. All respondents agreed the double-page spread and consistency of pages fit the magazine's style. Most said they would pay £3.99 for the magazine and buy this magazine.
2. What attracts you to my magazine?
When I asked my target audience what attracted them to my magazine I got various different
replies on to what attracted them. I asked various different people to fill in my questionnaire,
all within my target audience age range. The responses which I received were all about how
the magazine looked, some of the responses which I got were:
“The main image”
“Interesting colours and fonts”
“The main coverline”
“The free posters”
“The stories/articles included”
The results show for what attracts my target audience to my magazine is the appearance.
3. Do you think that the colour scheme goes with the
genre of the magazine?
YES
NO
This pie chart shows that nine out of the ten people in which I asked to fill in my questionnaire
about my magazine think that the colour scheme which I used goes with the genre of the
magazine. These results show me that I have chosen the right colours to follow throughout my
magazine as these colours that I used are older colours and could relate to any gender.
4. Do the different fonts fit in with the genre of the
magazine?
YES
NO
This pie chart shows me that all ten of the people that I had asked that they think that the different fonts
fit in with the genre of my magazine. When I had asked them and asked why they said that all of the fonts
used go with the rock genre as the fonts are quite bold and bright coloured.
5. Is the contents page clear on the magazines content?
YES
NO
This pie chart also shows that everyone I had asked to fill in my questionnaire that they all thought that it
was clear on the content and that they could easily find out where all of the articles are. They also said
that the way the contents page font is white on the black background, and as the contrast between the
colours makes it easier to read and to see.
6. Does my magazine look professional?
YES
NO
Everyone that I had asked to fill in my questionnaire said that it looks professional, meaning that
I had followed all of the conventions of a magazine. I had asked this question to see if I had
followed the conventions making it look like it is a professional magazine.
7. Does my double page spread fit in with the style and
genre of the magazine?
YES
NO
All of the people that I surveyed said that my Double Page Spread fits in well with the style of my
magazine. And when I had asked members of my target audience they said that the genre of the
magazine and the DPS all fits in with the magazine and the style.
8. Do the magazine pages look like they are from the
same magazine?
YES
NO
This pie chart tells me that all of the people I asked thought that all of my magazines looked like they
were from the same page and when I had asked why they said the colours that are used all remain the
same. And as each page has similar font on it, this then follows the house style which is following the
conventions of a music magazine.
9. Would you pay £3.99 for this magazine?
YES
NO
I asked members of my target audience if they would pay £3.99 for my magazine, and the responses that I
had received were typical of my target audience. Because as my target audience are younger ages 16-25
most people would have part time jobs and as my magazine is monthly they would be able to afford to
purchase my magazine. And as 7 out of the ten people I asked they said that they would pay this much as
because of the content and the incentives the price for the magazine is cheap.
10. Would you buy this magazine?
YES
NO
This pie chart results show that seven our of the ten people that I asked to fill my questionnaire in would
buy my magazine. This then gives me an idea of how many people would buy my magazine if I had asked
more people to fill in my questionnaire. And it also shows that the cost of my magazine isn’t too high and
that it is cheap for younger people to buy. And the people I surveyed and said no they don’t really buy
music magazines anyway.
