Meet the LKLD Library App




   Bringing the library to your
          SmartPhone
What is the LKLD app?
The ‘Lkld library’ app is a free app for Smartphone
  devices (iPhone, iPad, Android) that you can use
  to:
     o Search the Polk County Library Cooperative (PCLC)
       online catalog
     o Manage your library account
     o Request and Renew materials
     o Check out library materials
     o Access and download eBooks and eAudio
     o Find the hours of operation for the three Lakeland
       library locations
How does it work?
Get started by searching the
  App store on your iPhone,
  iPad, and/or Android
  device for “LKLD library”
  to download the free app.

The Library Home screen of
  the LKLD Library App
  (shown at right) provides
  a menu of options to
  search for materials and
  manage user accounts.
The options on the
LKLD Library app
Library Home screen
also include links to
events at the
Lakeland libraries,
library social media
pages, and contact
information for
specific services at
the three Lakeland
library locations.
Searching the PCLC Online Catalog
Begin your search for books and/or
audiovisual materials by typing in a
title or author in the search box.




                                       An example search for “The Hunger
                                       Games” produces a results list that includes
                                       various formats like regular, Large Print,
                                       and audio versions of the book.
Search Options
Clicking on a title in the
search results shows
that item’s record,
with information
about:
o Title
o Author
o Summary
o Requesting the item
o Libraries that own
the item
ISBN
   Use the BookLook ISBN
   Barcode scan feature to
   find out more about an
   item. Scanning the ISBN
   barcode will will search
   the PCLC catalog for that
   item, allowing you to read
   a summary, request the
   item, and/or see which
   libraries own copies.
Checkout items with your phone!
Use the BookCheck self-
checkout feature to scan
the library barcode of any
item(s) you want to
checkout and skip the
circulation desk checkout
lines!

NOTE: You will need your
library card barcode number
and ID number to sign in to
your account. Visit your local
public library to get your ID
number.
Manage eMaterials

         Access and download
         eBooks and AudioBooks
         directly to your phone
         or iPad using the
         eContent feature.
Access your library account
After signing in with your
library card barcode number
and ID number, use the My
Account feature to view:
oitems checked out on your
card
orequested items that are
ready to pick up
oitems you still have on
request
olibrary fines on your
account
Track checkouts and requests
The “Checked out” list includes due   The “Requests” list details all items
dates and renewal options for all     on request, queue position, and an
items checked out on your card.       option to cancel the request.
Find your local library

The “Public Libraries in
Lakeland” feature lists
the address, hours, and
contact information for
each of the three
Lakeland public library
locations.

LKLD Library App

  • 2. What is the LKLD app?   • 3. How does it work? Get started by searching the App store on your iPhone, iPad, and/or Android device for “LKLD library” to download the free app. The Library Home screen of the LKLD Library App (shown at right) provides a menu of options to search for materials and manage user accounts.

  • 5. Searching the PCLC Online Catalog Begin your search for books and/or audiovisual materials by typing in a title or author in the search box.
