• You may not just write an event story, as
you did for Moment or Movement
• You could interview speaker(s)
• You could interview crowd
• You could curate social media
• You could fact-check speaker(s)
• You could do outside reporting after event

6. Election options
• Cover a campaign event live
• Story on a candidate’s position on an issue
or comparing candidates’ positions
• Cover a local candidate’s election-night
results (speech, party, returns, etc.)
• Interview voters Election Day
• Something else?

• Can function as reporter
• Can function as communication aide for
candidate
• Can function as PR specialist for interest
group

8. Deadlines
• 5th assignment, Nov. 10
• 3rd assignment (if not done yet), Nov. 17

• For events, deadline is 24 hours later

10. Interview feedback
You all did good jobs. A’s all around.
Some tips:
• Preparing questions is good. Minimize how
much you read them, though.
• Good reaction by several of you, either to my
answers to your questions or following on
other students’ questions.
• But you missed one thing I said twice
