1. Psychology Question
psychology discussion question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.
I must make a video and need help with a script and idea. The instructions are below for
what I need done:
Question 1 to answer in your video: Think about a time when you experienced classical
conditioning or operant conditioning. For this question, describe your experience in detail
and state whether it was classical or operant conditioning. What happened? What is the
story? Give us the “scoop”!
IMPORTANT: If you choose operant conditioning, try to refrain from using a time when you
were rewarded for studying hard, getting a good grade, doing well in school, or earning a
promotion at work. Use a different scenario, please, unless you contact me first to explain it
and ask permission. Be creative and unique! You will earn minimal points if you write about
a situation related to school or work unless you receive permission. There are too many
other interesting topics to share.
3. Question 2 to answer in your video: Identify and describe the main elements involved.
Answer either 2a or 2b, depending on your situation. (12 points)
a. If your situation was classical conditioning, identify and describe the five (5) main parts:
NS (neutral stimulus), UCS (unconditioned stimulus), UCR (unconditioned response), CS
(conditioned stimulus), & CR (conditioned response). Also, make sure to explain WHY you
feel each element is correct. We must be able to determine your understanding of the
elements.☺
b. If your situation was operant conditioning, identify and describe it as positive
reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, or negative punishment (4
choices). It may even be multiple! Make sure to explain WHY you chose the element(s) you
did and WHY you think it is correct. In other words, explain WHY it is negative
reinforcement if you choose negative reinforcement. We must be able to determine your
understanding of the element(s).
4. Question 3 to answer in your video: Discuss any generalization, discrimination,
extinction, and/or spontaneous recovery that has (have) happened. Make sure you discuss
at least two principles and explain HOW you know you are correct. Be very specific and use
terminology from the book and/or course resources.
5. Respond to a classmate's post with something thoughtful, insightful, meaningful, and
2. unique. Include a unique, related, and valid source from our textbook, course resources,
and/or an outside source (use a source different from your classmates’ sources – just like
you did on the Padlet Discussion Board). You can ask a question or two in addition to
making a statement, but a question alone without a source will not suffice. You will earn
minimal points if you do not include at least one unique, related, and valid source, so do not
forget this part. Do not just restate what the person has said or agree or disagree with the
person, either. This is not meaningful. You can add to what the person said, or agree or
disagree if you include a related and valid source.
a. Valid resources outside of the textbook most likely come from .org, .edu, and/or .gov
websites. If you use an external website, please provide a link to the specific page(s) where
you found the information (example: Health Benefits of Friends). Do not provide a general
website (mayoclinic.org) or you will earn zero points for the reference.
