Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper
Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion PaperIntroductionA healthy workplace, as per the
American Nurses Association (2016), should be secure, supportive, and fulfilling. It is an
environment where all employees conduct their duties with productivity, openness,
discipline, engagement, responsibility, and accountability, while still protecting their health
& wellbeing. Health professionals have emphasized the importance of creating a safe and
civil work setting especially in the field of healthcare. Patient care will improve because
healthcare workers have a healthy, secure, and civil environment to work in. This paper
seeks to discuss the outcomes of the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory I undertook for my
organization, relating the outcomes to literature Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion
Paper.ORDER A PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER HEREPart 1: Work Environment AssessmentMy
workplace scored an 82 on the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory, indicating that it is
pretty healthy. Without a question, I anticipated my organization to receive a higher score,
putting us in a very healthy class. The organization I work for is not particularly big. We
have a strong degree of self-belief and collaboration as we have spent time trying to
understand each other and learning about our abilities and deficiencies nevertheless, as I
answered each query in the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory, I noticed that something
was lacking and that my organization's scores will continue to decline. Despite this
challenge, I am aware that no organization is without flaws.Various hurdles to ultimate
development can be encountered by all organizations. Another aspect of the results that
puzzled me was the fact that there are several factors that can influence a workplace's
health. If you had asked me to identify factors that lead to a healthy work environment, I
would have stated one or two. The first thing is to have a safe working space free of
dangerous conditions like unsafe equipment or slippery surfaces. The satisfaction of the
workers is the second choice I might have chosen. Workers who love their jobs should be
able to be happy at work in a healthy environment. Even so, the Clark Healthy Workplace
Inventory has shown me that these are only a handful of the factors and that there are
several others Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.Right before undertaking the
Clark Safe Workplace Inventory test, I had the impression that our workplace was healthy. I
came to this realization after interacting with my coworkers and the management and
knowing that we are all a team that looks out for each other. Unquestionably, the outcomes
of the test indicate that my work environment is safe and civil, but there are a few things
that should be improved. I have realized that we already have a great deal of respect for one
another. As a result of a strong degree of confidence and collaboration, we all strive to
accomplish our corporate objectives. We always acknowledge and say hello to each other
when we encounter each other in the hallway. We would even go above and beyond and
check up on one another when we have free time, both at work and home and check that all
is well. We understand that our actions have a significant effect on everyone else. Our
medical environment can be overwhelming at times, particularly when we have a large
number of challenging clients. Additionally, getting used to prolonged working time will
have an emotional impact on anyone. As a result, we recognize that the very first move in
healthcare is to speak about problems in a collegial manner.Part 2: Reviewing the
LiteratureA healthy and civil workplace, according to Clark's (2015)'s article
"Conversations to Inspire and Promote a More Civil Workplace," is one where
communication is transparent and efficient, and disagreement is handled in a conscientious
and transparent manner. This necessitates substantial leadership action to counter uncivil
actions. But that is not to say the uncivil conduct will not occur. Individuals are expected to
face difficulties and challenging conditions during normal busy working days, which may
contribute to uncivil conduct. Whenever this occurs, the parties involved must take
appropriate action to remedy the uncivil actions. The first move is to have a constructive
dialogue with the uncivil counterpart utilizing appropriate language. Of necessity, those
who participate in the dialogue must be able to communicate effectively, solve problems,
and resolve conflicts Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper. The specifications of a
healthy and civil work setting as defined by Clark (2015) exist in my organization in some
way, which is why I think we scored an 82. Although we face a variety of work-related
problems occasionally, it is the way we behave that distinguishes us as a healthy and civil
workplace. We consider ourselves to be a working community, which necessitates the need
to collaborate in a stress-free setting.Like I previously mentioned, I think my organization
will gain from making a few changes to improve organizational wellbeing and build better
teamwork. Firstly, I acknowledge that leadership roles will be beneficial to us. For example,
more opportunities to lead in our positions, and also education and training sessions on the
subject should be provided. An organization has to put more focus on leadership, both
formally and informally (Clark, 2015). Furthermore, in order to minimize disputes and
stress, we should be provided with platforms and ways to have open and honest
discussions. According to Clark (2015), a safe space needs to be established to accomplish
this Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.Part 3: Evidence-Based Strategies to
Create High-Performance Interprofessional TeamsIn addressing the insufficiency of
leadership roles, a technique of allocating greater roles may be used to make space for
leadership. Workers can develop an impression of self-worth about themselves and their
colleagues when they are given leadership roles ((Broome & Marshall, 2017). As a result, it
is critical that the organization aggressively seeks out ways where employees will be held
accountable Clark (2015) calls for the usage of the DESC approach, a Team-STEPPS strategy
that would enhance communication skills and collaboration, to assist in building a safe
space for individuals to have sensitive discussions The DESC approach consists of four
components, which are defined by the acronym. D stands for "describe the behavior," E for
"express the thoughts," S for "specify solutions," and C for "state the consequences."As
previously mentioned, a few of our workplace's productive actions include the existence of
collegiality and trust. To maintain and enhance trust within the workplace, an agreeable
policy is needed, which ensures that all leaders can be accessed by all workers rather than
providing a strict communication framework. Therefore, communications will be
transparent, input will be prompt, and conversations will be candid, resulting in increased
trust at all organizational thresholds (Broome & Marshall, 2021). The organization should
strive to honor and acknowledge progress as well as promote civility, and foster collegiality.
The celebrations and rewards may be formal or casual, but the key aim is to celebrate
achievement and reward achievements (Griffin & Clark, 2014). This is a surefire strategy to
get the employees to be civil to one another Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion
Paper.ConclusionThe outcomes of the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory I undertook of my
workplace have been comprehensively explored in this paper. My workplace achieved an
overall score of 82, indicating that it is relatively healthy. Despite the fact that we have made
substantial progress in being healthy and civil, I found some deficiencies, including a
scarcity of leadership opportunities and platforms for open discussions to prevent disputes
and stress. I found that we should use the technique of assigning greater roles to improve
leadership opportunities. The DESC framework will help establish a safe space for
employees to have open discussions. Additionally, an open-door policy will be essential to
continue creating and fostering trust at the workplace. Lastly, acknowledging and
rewarding accomplishments will help in promoting collegiality Critical Aspect Of Healthcare

Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.docx

  • 1. Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion PaperIntroductionA healthy workplace, as per the American Nurses Association (2016), should be secure, supportive, and fulfilling. It is an environment where all employees conduct their duties with productivity, openness, discipline, engagement, responsibility, and accountability, while still protecting their health & wellbeing. Health professionals have emphasized the importance of creating a safe and civil work setting especially in the field of healthcare. Patient care will improve because healthcare workers have a healthy, secure, and civil environment to work in. This paper seeks to discuss the outcomes of the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory I undertook for my organization, relating the outcomes to literature Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.ORDER A PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER HEREPart 1: Work Environment AssessmentMy workplace scored an 82 on the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory, indicating that it is pretty healthy. Without a question, I anticipated my organization to receive a higher score, putting us in a very healthy class. The organization I work for is not particularly big. We have a strong degree of self-belief and collaboration as we have spent time trying to understand each other and learning about our abilities and deficiencies nevertheless, as I answered each query in the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory, I noticed that something was lacking and that my organization's scores will continue to decline. Despite this challenge, I am aware that no organization is without flaws.Various hurdles to ultimate development can be encountered by all organizations. Another aspect of the results that puzzled me was the fact that there are several factors that can influence a workplace's health. If you had asked me to identify factors that lead to a healthy work environment, I would have stated one or two. The first thing is to have a safe working space free of dangerous conditions like unsafe equipment or slippery surfaces. The satisfaction of the workers is the second choice I might have chosen. Workers who love their jobs should be able to be happy at work in a healthy environment. Even so, the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory has shown me that these are only a handful of the factors and that there are several others Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.Right before undertaking the Clark Safe Workplace Inventory test, I had the impression that our workplace was healthy. I came to this realization after interacting with my coworkers and the management and knowing that we are all a team that looks out for each other. Unquestionably, the outcomes of the test indicate that my work environment is safe and civil, but there are a few things that should be improved. I have realized that we already have a great deal of respect for one another. As a result of a strong degree of confidence and collaboration, we all strive to
  • 2. accomplish our corporate objectives. We always acknowledge and say hello to each other when we encounter each other in the hallway. We would even go above and beyond and check up on one another when we have free time, both at work and home and check that all is well. We understand that our actions have a significant effect on everyone else. Our medical environment can be overwhelming at times, particularly when we have a large number of challenging clients. Additionally, getting used to prolonged working time will have an emotional impact on anyone. As a result, we recognize that the very first move in healthcare is to speak about problems in a collegial manner.Part 2: Reviewing the LiteratureA healthy and civil workplace, according to Clark's (2015)'s article "Conversations to Inspire and Promote a More Civil Workplace," is one where communication is transparent and efficient, and disagreement is handled in a conscientious and transparent manner. This necessitates substantial leadership action to counter uncivil actions. But that is not to say the uncivil conduct will not occur. Individuals are expected to face difficulties and challenging conditions during normal busy working days, which may contribute to uncivil conduct. Whenever this occurs, the parties involved must take appropriate action to remedy the uncivil actions. The first move is to have a constructive dialogue with the uncivil counterpart utilizing appropriate language. Of necessity, those who participate in the dialogue must be able to communicate effectively, solve problems, and resolve conflicts Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper. The specifications of a healthy and civil work setting as defined by Clark (2015) exist in my organization in some way, which is why I think we scored an 82. Although we face a variety of work-related problems occasionally, it is the way we behave that distinguishes us as a healthy and civil workplace. We consider ourselves to be a working community, which necessitates the need to collaborate in a stress-free setting.Like I previously mentioned, I think my organization will gain from making a few changes to improve organizational wellbeing and build better teamwork. Firstly, I acknowledge that leadership roles will be beneficial to us. For example, more opportunities to lead in our positions, and also education and training sessions on the subject should be provided. An organization has to put more focus on leadership, both formally and informally (Clark, 2015). Furthermore, in order to minimize disputes and stress, we should be provided with platforms and ways to have open and honest discussions. According to Clark (2015), a safe space needs to be established to accomplish this Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.Part 3: Evidence-Based Strategies to Create High-Performance Interprofessional TeamsIn addressing the insufficiency of leadership roles, a technique of allocating greater roles may be used to make space for leadership. Workers can develop an impression of self-worth about themselves and their colleagues when they are given leadership roles ((Broome & Marshall, 2017). As a result, it is critical that the organization aggressively seeks out ways where employees will be held accountable Clark (2015) calls for the usage of the DESC approach, a Team-STEPPS strategy that would enhance communication skills and collaboration, to assist in building a safe space for individuals to have sensitive discussions The DESC approach consists of four components, which are defined by the acronym. D stands for "describe the behavior," E for "express the thoughts," S for "specify solutions," and C for "state the consequences."As previously mentioned, a few of our workplace's productive actions include the existence of
  • 3. collegiality and trust. To maintain and enhance trust within the workplace, an agreeable policy is needed, which ensures that all leaders can be accessed by all workers rather than providing a strict communication framework. Therefore, communications will be transparent, input will be prompt, and conversations will be candid, resulting in increased trust at all organizational thresholds (Broome & Marshall, 2021). The organization should strive to honor and acknowledge progress as well as promote civility, and foster collegiality. The celebrations and rewards may be formal or casual, but the key aim is to celebrate achievement and reward achievements (Griffin & Clark, 2014). This is a surefire strategy to get the employees to be civil to one another Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.ConclusionThe outcomes of the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory I undertook of my workplace have been comprehensively explored in this paper. My workplace achieved an overall score of 82, indicating that it is relatively healthy. Despite the fact that we have made substantial progress in being healthy and civil, I found some deficiencies, including a scarcity of leadership opportunities and platforms for open discussions to prevent disputes and stress. I found that we should use the technique of assigning greater roles to improve leadership opportunities. The DESC framework will help establish a safe space for employees to have open discussions. Additionally, an open-door policy will be essential to continue creating and fostering trust at the workplace. Lastly, acknowledging and rewarding accomplishments will help in promoting collegiality Critical Aspect Of Healthcare Discussion Paper.ReferencesAmerican Nurses Association. (2016).
