  2. What is time management?(TM) Time Manageme nt refers to managing time effectively so that the right time is allocated to the right activity.

  4. Time is the most precious thing we have Time is ultimately the most valuable resource Time and how we spend it within the organization must be managed effectively Time is totally perishable Time cannot be stored up for use later WHY WE NEED TM?

Essential habits for good time management are:  Know where the hours are going  Keep focused on the end result Work to defined priorities  Schedule time for important issues  Delegate routine tasks and responsibility for them  Confront your own indecision and delay  Take the stress out of work  Keep applying the essential habits!

  7. MYTHS ABOUT TIME MANAGEMENTTime management is nothing but common sense. I do well in school, so I must be managing my time effectively. Time management? I work better under pressure. It takes all the fun out of life!!! No matter what I do, I won’t have enough time!
  8. STEPS TO MANAGING YOUR TIME 1. Set goals 2. Make a schedule 3. Revisit and revise your plan
  9. Make your goals specific and concrete. Don’t be vague. Set both long-term goals and short-term ones to support them. Set a deadline for your goals. Integrate your goals: professional, personal and career. Realize that goals change, but know which goals to stick to! Go for the goal! WHERE TO START? 1. Set Goals!
  10. 2. MAKE A SCHEDULE SET UP YOUR SEMESTER CALENDAR Look at the meeting schedules with the clients. Highlight all meetings according to time and place. Identify routine “client calling” days. Don’t forget to take a break once in a while.
  11. HOW TO MANAGE TIME 1.Prepare yourself first, by taking 30 minutes of your time to fix yourself something to eat and relax. Assign realistic priorities to each task.

  24. TACKLE TIME WASTERS First, learn to recognize when you’re wasting time. Decide what you need to do and can realistically do. Learn how to say “NO” when you don’t have time. Use an answering machine and return calls at your convenience. The telephone is a major time killer. Learn to say “I can’t talk right now. I’ll get back to you.” Wasting time is often linked to a lack of self-discipline. Ask yourself, “Do I really need to do this or not?”
