This year’s theme is Baroque on the Bow
The institute provides an opportunity for participants to study the philosophy of
Dr. Shinichi Suzuki with highly qualified and motivational teachers.
3. Baroque on the Bow
ASSI participants will leave the institute
this summer with a greater appreciation
and understanding of the Baroque time
period and the great composers such as
Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi.
Suzuki students have first-hand
experience with the literature of these
masters and further exploration will
enhance their appreciation of the works
they have already performed and/or will
soon be performing.
4. Baroque on the Bow
Participants will have exposure to the
instruments of the Baroque time period and
the string family of this era. The famous
dance pieces so common in the Suzuki
literature will come alive as students learn,
for example, what the Minuet steps feel like
and how the music fits with the movement.
See you this summer in Calgary, a city settled
