Multimedia applications are used as a
source of information to deliver learning
resources for students.
Multimedia is highly effective
 People retain
• 20% of what they see
• 30% of what they hear
• 50% of what they see and hear
• 80% of what they see, hear and
do simultaneously
Text in Education
 Text is used at all levels of education
 Learning resources contain text, such as books, pdf,
word file etc.
 It helps to evaluate the performance of the students
through sessional, assignments and examination.
 It is used to examine the analytical thinking of the
students
 It is helpful to record the research work.
Graphics in Education
 It helps to understand the concept easily
 It attract the students toward learning
 It helps in preparing teaching aids
 It is also used in books
 It helps to easily understand the research
findings.
Multimedia is useful for
teachers and students
Teachers Students
• Provide opportunity to teach in a
new way
• Storing the information for a
longer period of time.
• Teacher plays a role of facilitator • It is useful for special need
students
• Give students an active task to
complete
• More senses are involved
• To cater the needs of students • Students become independent and
active learner
• Useful to make their teaching more
interesting
• It is useful for distance learner
