A holiday celebrated in many Hispanic cultures
Focuses on gatherings of family and friends to
pray for and remember friends and family
members who have died.
They set up altar in honor of their loved ones
and decorate it with
memorabilia, fruits, candles, and flowers
The celebration takes place on November 1st
and 2nd, in connection with the Catholic
holidays of All Saints' Day (November 1) and
All Souls' Day (November 2).
In the US, it is celebrated a lot like in Mexico –
centered around Texas and Arizona
3. La Celebración por El Día de los Muertos
A local celebration will be hosted in
Atlantic Station in Midtown on Sunday,
November 6th, 2011 from 12 pm to 5 pm.
There is also a Day of the Dead
celebration in the Atlanta History Center
on Sunday, October 30 from 12 pm to
5pm.
