Blood shot
Black screen. Initial POV of flashback. David is
running through the forest. Momentary black outs to
show fear. Deep breathing can be heard. Then, black
screen and large text appears. 30 minutes earlier……
David is waiting in the forest with a briefcase. He
checks his watch. A rustle of leaves can be heard and
David looks up. A man in a black suit and black tie
stands there. The meeting had begun……..
David: You’re late. I thought perhaps, well, you may
have changed your mind
Caleb: shut it and give me the briefcase. I trust you
didn’t look inside
David: of course not. Although, I would like to know
the contents of this case.
Caleb: that is not permitted. You will leave now.
David: no, I want to see. I thought it was money at
first but the smell was nothing I had smelt before.
If whatever is inside that thing is dangerous then I
want to know.
Caleb: you know something. I was meant to dispose of
your worthless body after our little meeting. So go
now before I change my mind.
David thinks for a moment. Caleb’s phone rings. He
answers and turns his back as though to block David
from listening. David makes a sudden movement and
snatches the case and runs in the other direction.
2. Caleb: I’ll call you back.
Caleb pulls out a gun and chases David through the
woods. Gunshots are heard.
Caleb: get back here before I shoot you
David keeps running. More gunfire. David trips and
gets up limping away.
He pauses for breath. Silence. He turns around and
Caleb is stood there gun pointed at him form a
distance of 10 feet.
David: I’m sorry, please, I have a wife and children,
my mother, she is seriously ill.
Caleb: you have no children. Your mother passed away
last year. You see, David, we take the liberty of
looking at our contacts past. What’s that old saying;
you can run, but you can’t hide.
Black out.
Sound of David’s voice: please……
One more gunshot.
The end
