Update 2.1 for my Prosperity Challenge Neighborhood, Oak Grove.

1. UPDATE 2.1

2. Oak Grove began with four founding families. The Collins, Stewarts,
Monahans, and Tierneys.
This is a chronicle of general observations of the bits and pieces of how
they interact, live and grow. Heh, that sounds serious. It’s not really that
detailed.

3. First, let me start off by saying that there might be some continuity problems. You see, I thought I had lost
Oak Grove due to epic laptop failure. I had made a back up copy and tried installing it my current laptop,

but it wasn’t showing up in game. Well, after getting depressed at losing ANOTHER neighborhood, I left it
alone and came back after awhile. When I opened the folder again, I noticed a subfolder that didn’t belong.
After removing it, I was able to reload Oak Grove and voila! Here we are! Anyhoo, in re‐acquiring custom
content, I was not able to find or decided not to acquire all the parts and pieces I used in the original
neighborhood. Some is obvious, some, not so much.

4. When we last left the Collins Family, Preston and William had both left
the old homestead and moved into their own homes which happened to
be adjacent to each other. Robert, their elderly grandfather had recently
be adjacent to each other. Robert, their elderly grandfather had recently
passed away, leaving Richard alone to complete high school and take
care of the house.
Preston had moved in his high school sweetheart, Ivy Copur and William

had asked his lover, Ricky Cormier to move in as well.

5. Richard was carrying on as best he could after his brothers moved out
and his grandfather died. It was easier to keep up with the house since
he was the only one living there.

6. He even had time to work in the small garden that Robert had started.

7. When not tending to the garden or the house, he would entertain
different friends from school. One of them was Nikki Owens. A frequent
visitor, a romantic bond was an inevitable development between the
two.

8. Eventually, the day came when Richard was able to leave his younger
years behind. It was time to become an adult.
(I don t think I ever gave you Richard s stats. He is a 4/4/4/7/6 Aquarius

Family sim who would like to be Captain Hero someday.)

9. Which also meant adult company. The night of his birthday party. Note
that this is NOT Nickki, his intended. She was not at the party, though
she was aged up with him. Because she is his intended spouse.

10. Marielle however had other ideas, and Richard was more than happy to
go along with them. One last fling before his life with Nikki begins, I
suppose. Of course, in the time line, Marielle is carrying another mans
baby at this point, she just hasn’t popped yet. Thank you ACR.

11. Even Richard’s mother, Placeholder Collins, who he never knew,
disapproved heartily.

12. But this happy, go lucky fellow didn’t let any of it concern him. He went
about his days, keeping house and harvesting his mouth watering
strawberries until Nikki could move in.

13. It didn’t take long. He debated telling her of his one indiscretion and
finally decided against it. He was sure it would never come up, and he
knew it would never happen again.

14. They had a lovely ceremony in their front room since the weather was
not optimal for holding it outdoors. Richard’s family was there as well as
a few of the couples friends.

15. As he professed his love for Nikki, Richard knew he was the happiest sim
in Oak Grove.

16. It wasn’t long before their first child made its presence known.

17. Nikki had a relatively easy pregnancy and used a lot of her free time
during maternity leave to skill. She is a 2/3/9/7/4 Sagittarius knowledge
sim who would like to become Chief of Staff.

18. Richard joined her on his days off. His finest accomplishment during that
time period was to finally finish the family portrait of his Grandfather and
brothers he had begun from so long ago.

19. Nikki went into labor one morning while Richard was still at work.
Remington the man maid was on hand to make sure that everything
went well. He had seen his share of births in his line of work and knew
that panic not necessary.

20. Nikki and Richard welcomed little Andrew to their family. He has his
mothers blue eyes and both of his parents fair hair and skin tone.

21. This is the house that Preston and Ivy built. Their 16x16 base was an 8x8
on top of an 8x8. There’s now a third level as seen here.

22. Wyatt is their oldest son. I don’t have infant pictures, because they were
too confusing. The babies, they look a lot alike. I wish you didn’t have to
have only one default infant clothing.

23. Wyatt loves his Uncle Richard. In fact, they later become best friends.

24. It didn’t take long for Ivy to be preggers again. I think this was the night
of Wyatt’s toddler transition.

25. Here’s Wyatt as a child, enamored of his hand as all young sims tend to
be.
His stats are:
9/2/10/3/6 Virgo

26. Somewhere between his child transition and the twins toddler transition
( you’ll meet them next) and the aforementioned missing neighborhood
fiasco, Wyatt lost his cc eyes. He didn’t even default to blue like he had,
and I am too lazy and indifferent to fix it.

27. Anyhoo, meet the twins. This here is Hugh.
Hugh is a 9/4/9/10/3 Taurus.

28. And here is his twin sister Jonelle.
Jonelle is a 9/2/6/3/5 Virgo.

29. Life for the family went on pretty normally. William was a frequent
visitor. He did only live next door and could often be found letting
himself in and joining the family for dinner.

30. Soon it was time for the twins to grow up again. Ivy was in the third
trimester of her third pregnancy.

31. And here is Hugh. Both post make‐over.

32. This slide is here purely to show the awesomeness that is Hugh. I usually
try not to pick favorites, but I truly love this kid!

33. Ivy decided they all needed a little rest and relaxation before the new
baby arrived so she took the kids down the street to the fishing pond.

34. A fun time was had by all, and everyone caught something except
Jonelle. Hugh stole the day as he caught not one, but three fish. The
family stayed well past dark before deciding they had better head on
home.

35. The day out did them all good, and Marc was born later that night.

36. He transitioned into the same outfit as his big brother Wyatt did, with a
similar disposition to his brother Hugh.
He is a 9/4/9/10/3 Taurus also.

37. Marc’s toddler birthday was followed shortly by Wyatt’s teen birthday.
Wyatt decided he wants to pursue “wuv, twoo wuv”. He is a romance
boy who would like to become a Hall of Famer someday.

38. While the birthday party was raging on inside, Wyatt approached his
mother with a well organized and rather pleasantly presented request to
go out.

39. Ivy hesitated for a moment, after all, this was her baby. She eventually
relented though. Wyatt had been a very responsible child, always helpful
with his younger brothers and sister. She gave him a list of instructions
and expectations, and allowed him to go.

40. Wyatt was able to purchase the teenage necessities, like a cell phone and
MP3 player. He also met a few people.

41. People of all ages were at the arcade. Being the personable young man
he was, Wyatt made a few friends that evening and had a good time. He
even made it back home before his curfew.

42. Soon enough it was Marc’s turn to transition to childhood. For some
bizarre reason, he grew up with blonde hair. I’m thinking it has to do
with a cc hair that is not binned properly.

43. A quick makeover and all is o.k. Not sure what the hair was that he was
supposed to grow up into, but this is what he has now. He’s cute too.
He’s also very aware that he is the baby. He wants nothing more than for
Wyatt to play with him all the time, and Wyatt is not so willing to do so.
Nor is Jonelle.

44. Hugh the Awesome is usually the one who will play with him, even
though he won’t sit too close. I’m sensing some sibling rivalry developing
here.

45. When the rotation ended, Ivy had just miscarried her fourth pregnancy. Preston
wants to marry off six kids and she’s doing her best to help him reach that LTW.
Yeah, I have that hack in. I wanted to play with it for awhile and see what it was
like. Most of it I don’t notice or mind. I do think the miscarriage percentages
are set waaaaay too high though. It seems like I have a high number of them
happening. I’m debating whether to pull the hack or not.

46. Preston was a very understanding and supportive husband, letting Ivy
know that her health was the most important thing to him and the
family. If they were meant to have six kids, they would. If not, they
wouldn’t.

47. It doesn’t seem like Preston was featured much in this
update, but he was there. He’s a very awesome family
sim. Especially when it comes to his baby girl. Not that
he doesn’t love his boys any less. He’s the one who stays
home with them. He’s also the one who taught them all
their toddler skills and helps them with their homework.

48. Next door to Preston and Ivy is the party pad of William and Ricky. A
pleasure and romance sim, respectively, they have all the great toys they
need to enjoy life with their friends.

49. Though, when we last heard of William, he had “unexpectedly”
disappeared for a few days.

50. He returned with the expected gift from his new friends.

51. Taking everything in stride, Ricky even put on a few sympathy pounds.
When your boyfriend is a Grilled Cheese secondary, it’s easy to put on a
few pounds.

52. The end result is Zathura, who is gorgeous.
I always want to name my aliens with names starting with “X” or “Z”, only
it’s really hard to come up with viable “X” and “Z” names. Weird, I know.
I can’t explain it either. It just is the way it is.

53. Ricky thinks she’s adorable too.

54. It wasn’t long before she transitioned as a toddler.
She definitely has an alien personality as a 10/6/10/0/0 Scorpio.

55. She’s so freakin’ cute too.

56. But constantly reminds us of the lack of nice points.

57. William is in the slacker career track and he’s near the top, so he has a lot
of free time at home. He was able to teach Zathura all of her toddler
skills. Usually after a trip to the hot tub it seems.

58. Just more gratuitous toddler shots of Zathura. Her hair was changed in
the missing neighborhood fiasco, but she’s still adorable.

59. One more. Who can resist, I ask?

60. Ricky takes fairly good care of her during those infrequent times when
William has to go to work. He’s actually pretty fond of her as well.

61. When he’s not on the bubble blower that is.

62. Or messing around on William.

63. I think William may suspect something is going on. Nothing like a grilled
cheese sandwich to cheer up the grilled cheese sim when he’s feeling
blue.

64. It wasn’t long before William became a Professional Party Guest and
achieved his LTW.

65. Shortly after that Zathura had her child birthday. I had plans to have a
family party, but she rolled the fear of it, and between trying to keep
Ricky and William happy, she actually grew up by herself in her bedroom.
Of course, it didn’t slow her down. She immediately sought out her
Daddy and challenged him to a game of red hands.

66. After which she really impressed him with her cartwheeling skills.

67. After she raised her grades high enough, the headmaster was invited
over. William and Ricky only want the best for their daughter.

68. To her delight, she got in.

69. And brought her cousin Hugh home to play with. Which is odd, because he is
not in the private school. Not that I know of anyway. But he is Hugh the
Awesome, so maybe there is something going on there that I don’t know
about.
