2. 1) Electric Vehicles are also referred to as battery electric vehicles.
2) They have an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine.
3) These vehicles use a large traction battery pack to power up the electric
motor.
4) These vehicles do not have exhaust and do not contain the typical fuel
liquids components.
3. 1) Battery: In electric drive vehicles the auxiliary battery provides
electricity to electric power accessories.
2) DC/DC converter: This device converts higher voltage dc power from
the battery pack to the lower voltage dc power needed to run the vehicle
accessories.
3) Electirc traction motor: using power from battery pack. This motor
drives vehicles wheels. Some vehicles use motor generators that perform
both drive and regeneration propose .
4. From the following picture we can have
idea of the basic components of Electric
vehicles.
5. On board charger: Takes the incoming AC electricity supplied by the
charge port and converts to DC power for charging the betteries .
4)Power Electronics controller: This unit manages the flow of electric
energies delivered by traction battery controlling the speed of electric
motor and the torque it produces
5) Thermal system: This system maintains a proper operating temperature
range of electric motor power electronics nd other components
6. 1) Electric car engine working: Electric cars function by plugging into a
charge point and taking electricity from the gride they store the electricity
in rechargeable batteries that power an electric motor which turns the
wheel. Electric car accelerate fasten than vehicle with traditional engines.
2) when the peddle of car is pressed then 1) controller takes and regulates
electrical energy from batteries and inverters 2) with the controller set the
inverter then sends a certain amount of electric energy to the motor
according to the depth of the presser on the peddle
7. 3) electric motor converts electric energy into machinal energy ( rotation)
4) rotation of the motor rotor rotates the transmission so the wheels turn
and then the car moves
8. 1) Here for the reference we are considering Tesla because they are the top
manufacturer of EV.
Tesla model 3: The capacity of battery is 57.5Kwh while the real range is
380 km. Total power is 208 kW with total torque of 420 Nm. With top
speed of 225km/h.
Tesla model S: The usable battery is 95.0 kWh and with the range of 515
km. The total power is 580 kW with total torque of 1140 Nm. With top
speed of 261 km/h.
9. Energy storage system usually batteries are essentials for all EV (electric
vehicles).
1)The type of battery used in EV are lithium ion batteries.
2) Parameters: Weight and size of batteries are absolutely crucial in
accordance to car . Researchers and manufactures specially care about
specific energy or energy density this is the energy per unit weight or
volume.
