1. The Romanesque art in the
Ribagorza and the Sobrarbe

2.  Entre los siglos XI y XIII, se desarrolló el arte
Románico. Debido a la importancia de la
religión en la sociedad medieval, las
manifestaciones artísticas tenían temática
religiosa. La arquitectura ocupó un lugar
fundamental.
 Between the XIth and XIIIth century, the
Romanesque art was developed. Due to
the importance of the religion in the
medieval society , the artistic manifestations
had religious subject. The architecture
occupied a fundamental place.

3.  En principio, el condado de la Ribagorza
pertenecía a la Marca Hispánica creada por
Carlomagno. En la zona oriental del territorio
aragonés, el conde Ramón I independizó de los
francos el condado de Ribagorza.
At first, the county of the Ribagorza concerned to
the Hispanic Brand created by Charlemagne. In
the oriental zone of the Aragonese territory, the
count Ramon I freed of the Francs Ribagorza's
county.

4.  Se construía en piedra, con gruesos
muros y estrechas ventanas . El
interior de estas iglesias era muy
oscuros, los elementos esenciales
son: la planta era de cruz latina,
crucero , cimborrio, ábside, girola,
bóveda de cañón, contrafuertes y
torre de campanario.
 It was build with stone, with thick
walls and narrow windows. The
interior of these churches was very
dark, the essential elements are: the
plant was of Latin cross, cruise,
dome, apse, girola, tunnel vault,
buttresses and tower of belfry.

7.  La escultura románica tenia
una fuerte dependencia de
la arquitectura y las figuras
solían adoptar las
proporciones y la forma de la
superficie sobre la que eran
esculpidas .
 The Romanesque sculpture
had a strong dependence of
the architecture and the
figures appear adopted the
proportions and the forms of
the surface on which they
were sculptured.
