 An accomplished family attorney with more than 25 years of experience,
Terry Chucas has been recognized as one of San Diego’s top attorneys and
focuses his work on dependency appeals. Outside of his professional life,
Terry Chucas gives back to the community through his involvement with the
YMCA of San Diego County.
The YMCA of San Diego County supports student achievement and college
readiness for local students-in-need through its College Readiness Program.
To that end, the YMCA rolled out a new program in partnership with the
Winward Academy in February 2019 that will help provide an easier path to
college for students at San Ysidro High School. The new initiative works with
some 135 students in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
program at San Ysidro High School.
Winward Academy will provide video-based tutoring for students, who will
be transported to the Y to take part in the program. San Diego
councilmember Vivian Moreno and San Diego Gas and Electric have jointly
provided $15,000 in financial support so that students can take part in the
tutoring program free of charge.
