41. UMOJA Established: Spring 2000 Purpose: Promote unity of African American women on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Membership:All women who are UT students, faculty, or staff members. Functions: UMOJA holds weekly meetings every Tuesday to discuss relevant topics to Black women. Membership: Must be a registered as a second semester student at U.T. with a GPA of 2.5. Functions: PHD: Prevent High School Dropouts; Seed planning; Encourage East Austin minority students to push for excellence in their community, home, school and on the job; Provide scholarships to needy high school students. Innervisions Gospel Choir Purpose: To spread and minister the Gospel according to Jesus Christ; to reach out to our fellow man, by introducing to some and presenting to others that there is a reality in serving a true and living God. Membership: Registered UT students, strictly voluntary Functions: We minister on campus as well as throughout the city, state and nation. We traditionally culminate our year with a spring concert.
