i. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This assignment would not be complete without the effort and co-operation from our
group members, Ong Shi Hui, Loong Bo Lin, Ahmed Ali, Tan Chin Yin and Ang
Averllen. We are grateful and satisfied that we managed to complete our Social
Psychology assignment within the time given by our lecturer, Mr T. Shankar. Also, we
sincerely thank him for the guidance and advice that led us to produce the video, report
and presentation slides.
ii. INTRODUCTION
In this project, students are required to carry out a social psychology conceptual video clip
and required to do a presentation in groups of 4 to 5 students. Students may use theories
from a choice of topics taught and discussed in class.
Students are required to complete three tasks which include producing a video clip by
using the concepts learned in class, written report of the video clip and presenting the clip
to the class. This project will help students to learn and understand the connections
between concepts and perspectives within psychology and with other disciplines. Hence,
students will be able to engage in psychological inquiry and become self-regulated
learners.
iii. METHOD

a) APPARATUS / MATERIALS
To ensure that our group video was filmed smoothly, we conducted several discussions on
the tools and props needed to complete the storyboard act. Below is a list of items used:
Filming Equipment:
  Iphone 5s for the camera which have a better mobility.
  Two mobile phones (iPhones) – to record audio dialogues to be inserted
into the video
 during the editing process.
  Office chair – cameras were placed on it to film scenes in a variety of
angles, motions and
 techniques.

  YouTube-mp3.org
  YouTube
 Props and Costumes
  Work set – Papers, books, materials, laptop bag and a laptop, all placed
in the classroom which at block E.
 Final Cut Pro to edit the video which used in Mac Lab
b) PROCEDURE

 Setting:

To create a more engaging approach through our video, we filmed our video in a
same classroom to ensure the flow of the filming is smooth and the sound is clear enough
since the classroom is very quite.
Block E’s classroom
- Early afternoon around 11 a.m.
Operation:
1. Discussion
In depth, pre-discussions were the basis of our videos. After
finalizing the main theme of our video story line, we looked deeper to produce a main
storyline that include five most suitable social psychology concepts. Next, all four of us
suggested smaller storylines and scenes that would convey each message specifically
and clearly. At the same time, we would write down notes for our own reference .
Story line
A lazy student and a hardworking student, which is Hazel and Bolin, but
they are best friends. Hazel didn’t do her homework and sleep in class while
Bolin pass up her homework on time. So, Hazel drives out by her teacher, Mr.
Averllen. Exam is coming, but both of them still play computer games. Hazel
feels that she no need to study because she study hard last time but got a poor
result. Bolin didn’t study but she get a good result last time. When releasing
result, of course, Hazel's result is really bad. She gets scold by her father,

bad impression on her. She gets caught in her exam by Mr. Averllen. She
observed study way of Bolin and learn from her. Actually, Bolin pays attention in

2. Role delegation:

The assignment has several components that needed input from every single man in
the team. Thus, we discussed and settled the person-in-charge according to each member’s
skillset for each section. However, as a team, we often suggest areas of improvement and
ideas for each other to better the quality of our work.
Table of our task delegation system:
Member Overall Context Video Context
Ahmed Ali Report writer, Presenter Supporting Character, Father
of the lazy one.
Ong Shi Hui Report writer, Presenter Main Character, The lazy one
Loong Bo Lin Main Slides maker, Presenter. Secondary Character, Best
friend of main character, The
smart one
Tan Chin Yin Video Editing, Presenter Supporting Character, Mother
of the smart one
Ang Averllen Report Writer, Presenter Teacher
3. Video Filming

As mentioned above, we recorded the video on the same classroom and the
arrangement of the table is being arrange look like a classroom.
We often acted out one scene several times to capture the best cut. During which
we also contribute in terms of ideas to the actors and videographer, for example,
filming angles and techniques, besides quirks and actions to be shown in the video.
The group’s efficiency as a whole created excellent flow of ideas and video
quality.
Analysis. Tabulation and Presentation
Besides the video, presentation slides and the report were components that required
input. Proper analysis, research and format were used in the making of each section to
deliver clear and concise results. Even though there was a leader for all sections, each
group member contributed to each one. Lastly, we double check everyone work to
ensure the content is true and correct.
In terms of presentation, we rehearsed a few times to ensure the flow of speech and
points to explain our video and report to the class.
As a conclusion, operation of the
whole assignment was quite smooth without any major challenges.
For video, 5 social psychology concepts were applied and demonstrated through the
acting of each of the group members. The 5 concepts are confirmation bias, optimistic
bias, social comparison, first impression and observation learning.
Confirmation bias:
A confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias that involves favoring information that
confirms previously existing beliefs or biases.
Scene: Confirmation bias
Bolin tells Hazel you need to study because Bolin already knows Hazel marks are too
bad. As well as in contrast Hazel tell Bolin that she does not need to study because she is
already has previous information about her she's an excellent student.
First Impression:
First impression is the first mental image of a person, when one person encounter with
another one.
Scene: First Impression
The impression is made when the teacher ask student about the homework if she did it or
not.
Optimistic bias:
Is the tendency of individuals to underestimate the likelihood they will experience adverse
events, such as skin cancer or car accidents.
Scene: Optimistic bias
Hazel after wasting her time of playing, she went to study for the exam but she can’t finish
all chapters. She was trying hardly to find a way to cheat on exam and she was telling her
self ,teacher will never know about cheating.
Social comparison:
The social comparison process involves people coming to know themselves by evaluating
their own attitudes, abilities, and beliefs in comparison with others.
Scene: Social comparison
Parents meet each other and they start talk about their children’s results. Mother of Bolin
starts compare her daughter with Ahmed’s daughter.
Observational learning:
Observational learning is an important area in the field of psychology and behavior
science more generally. Given this, it is essential that behavior analysts articulate a sound
theory of how behavior change occurs through observation.
Scene: Observational learning
In that time Hazel just realize the shortening on her. After that she is starting study hard
and that what we called it observation learning.

We are grateful and satisfied that we managed to complete our Social Psychology assignment within the time given by our lecturer, Mr T. Shankar. Also, we sincerely thank him for the guidance and advice that led us to produce the video, report and presentation slides.
  • 4. ii. INTRODUCTION In this project, students are required to carry out a social psychology conceptual video clip and required to do a presentation in groups of 4 to 5 students. Students may use theories from a choice of topics taught and discussed in class. Students are required to complete three tasks which include producing a video clip by using the concepts learned in class, written report of the video clip and presenting the clip to the class. This project will help students to learn and understand the connections between concepts and perspectives within psychology and with other disciplines. Hence, students will be able to engage in psychological inquiry and become self-regulated learners.

As mentioned above, we recorded the video on the same classroom and the arrangement of the table is being arrange look like a classroom. We often acted out one scene several times to capture the best cut. During which we also contribute in terms of ideas to the actors and videographer, for example, filming angles and techniques, besides quirks and actions to be shown in the video. The group’s efficiency as a whole created excellent flow of ideas and video quality. Analysis. Tabulation and Presentation Besides the video, presentation slides and the report were components that required input. Proper analysis, research and format were used in the making of each section to deliver clear and concise results. Even though there was a leader for all sections, each group member contributed to each one. Lastly, we double check everyone work to ensure the content is true and correct. In terms of presentation, we rehearsed a few times to ensure the flow of speech and points to explain our video and report to the class.
As a conclusion, operation of the whole assignment was quite smooth without any major challenges.
