I. PENDAHULUAN
A. DESKRIPSI JUDUL MODUL
”Talking about people’s job and edudation background” merupakan ungkapan
sederhana yang digunakan untuk membicarakan pekerjaan dan latar belakang penidikan dalam
bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan bentuk kalimat (tense) atau ungkapan-ungkapan yang
tepat dan sesuai menurut tata bahasa.
B. PETUNUJK PENGGUNAAN MODUL
1. Bagi peserta diklat
- Bacalah setiap bagia modul dengan cermat
- Diskusikan materi yang ada dalam modul ini dengan teman anda dan tanyalan kepada
failitator/ guru mata diklat apabila terdapat hal-hal yang kurang jelas dalam setaiap bagiab
bab, sehingga anda dapat mengerjakan atau mempelajari materi selanjutnya
- Bacalah dengan cermat peta kedudukan modul, prasyarat pengertian dan istiah-istilah
(glossary) yang terdapat dalam modul ini.
- Anda tidak dibenrkan melanjtukan kegiatan bekajar berikutnya bila belum menguasai
secara tuntas materi pada kegiatan belajar sebelumnya.
- Kerjakan soal cek kemampuan tugas dan diskusi kelompok untuk mengatahui apakah
anda sudah kompeten terhadap sub kometensi ini, maka anda harus dapat mengerjakan
soal-soal yang terdapat pada sub evaluasi.
2. Bagi guru diklat (fasilitator)
- Membimbing peserta diklat bagaimana menggunakan modul ini, metode pembelajaran,
cara penilaian, saran dan prasaran ayang digunakan dalam pembelajaran dan alokasi
waktu (durasi waktu).
- Membantu peserta diklat untuk menentukan dan mengakses sumber tambahan lain yang
diperlukan.
- Membantu peserta diklat dalam memahami konsep baru sert amenjawab pertanyaan
peserta diklat mengenai proses belajar diklat.
- Mencatat pencapaian kemajuan siswa, menindaklanjuti dan memberi umpan balik
(feedback) atas pencapaian belajar peserta diklat.
D. TUJUAN AKHIR PEMBELAJARAN
Setelah mempelajari modul ini, peserta diklat diharapkan dapat menangani pembicaraan
melelui telepon serta menanganipesan-pesan yang diterima baik secara langsung maupun
melalui telepon.

The general high school prepares the students to study at the university. This school
improves the students knowledge to develop themselves in accordance with the

vocational school prepares the students to get into the profession to enlarge the

themselves, to be middle class workers to meet the need of business field and industry
for the present and future time. It's grouped into:

d. Expressing figures and facts
Fact means the reality data, it's usually concerned with quantity or numbering of
thing. Figures means a graph showing something based on the data. Study the following

Horn-Carving
7. Horn -carving is a popular handicraft in Pucang. Serang Sub district, in Magelang, Ventral
Java. It is Said theta lost the whole population there is skilled in this art. In fact about thirty five
families in this place actually make their living by carving things from of (4) buffaloes or caws.
Mr. Mangundiharjo is one of the harm-carvers of pucang, he has been engaged in this trade
(6) for more than thirty years, it was his father who had given him his early training. Now Mr,
Mangundiharjo OWNS a workshop where he has (8) eight people working under him, He and his
staff normally produce (g) one thousand carvings per day, However, this is not a record for a single
day, for example, they once received an order for one hundred and forty two thousand camps and
he managed to deliver the goods on time. However, he still believes that quality is everything. That
is why he always tells his staff that is important to produce quality products.
Mr. Mangundiharjo's workshop does not only handle single large order such as the one
mentioned above, but he also displays individual items at his workshop, where tourist often come
to buy souvenirs, if they wish to buy more of the articles, they may then place an order for them.
Mr. Mangundiharjo does not find it hard to obtain raw materials. His workshop needs about
(12) two tans of horns a day, the buys the horns from (11) Jakarta and Ujung Pandang, Most
expensive are (13) Albino buffalo horns, which cost (14) seven
hundred rupiahs per kilo, Ordinary buffalo horns are bought for (15) two hundred and seventy five
rupiahs per kilo. Cow hors, at one hundred rupiahs per kilo, are the cheapest
