Why people procrastinate and how to overcome it

Why do people procrastinate?
I believe people procrastinate because they probably feel that the assignment
they are supposed to do is not important at that precise time they are supposed to do it.
Some people have poor time management. Some people have difficulty
concentrating.Perfectionism, often associated with unrealistic standards is a major part
of procrastination also.
After reflecting on the article, I can completely relate to what the author is saying.
I think some people grow out of their phases of procrastination when they get older, or
when a person becomes responsible to a limit. I use to be a procrastinator, I always did
everything at the last minute, but now that I have kids and I have to focus on them more
than ever, I have learned to do my work and get it out the way because you never know
when something is going to happen.
I have a few friends that believe that “I work better under pressure” nonsense,
and since they seem to get passing grades most of the time, they really do think it’s the
best way and continue to do so. From experience I don’t think waiting to the last minute
is the best thing due to the fact many people become stressed out, and some get so
worked up that they have anxiety attacks because they can’t handle the pressure. I
believe people can overcome this whole procrastination epidemic if we learn in school
how to manage your time correctly. I find my Broward College agenda very useful and
it keeps me on top of things constantly. So my best advice is for people to find the one
way to that helps them with time management and hopefully they can stay constant with
it.
