We all know that Mobile computing is exploding, otherwise we wouldn’t be here today would we?
We are very clearly seeing a massive ‘paradigm shift’ in computing, from desktop computing to mobile, location and environmentally aware devices.
And it’s the location/environmental awareness and portability that truly makes this a new era in computing. Much like the Personal Computer was decades ago to its predecessor the mainframe.
What I find particularly compelling is that as academic institutions we have massive information systems, huge amounts of relevant data just waiting to be linked up and made accessible in novel ways to genuinely assist in the day to day lives of our members.
So I’d quickly like to tell you about our first steps and what you could do to be part of it.
