A pitch to the class

2. Name : The Rest Is Noise
• We took inspiration from Jamie XX who
we are looking to base our sounds on. He
has a song called ‘The Rest Is Noise’ on
his newest album ‘In Colour’.

3. Music : Song Choice
• We have chosen the song ‘Loud Places’
by Jamie XX, which is an electronic song
made up of sounds from electronic
instruments as well as gospel singing and
other vocals from ‘Romy’.

4. Location : Choice
• The majority of our video will be shot in a
warehouse which we have access to,
however the start and end of the video will
be shot outside, preferably somewhere
with a decent view. There is also the
possibility that we can hire out a studio
space. Using a green screen would allow
us to film ‘anywhere’ and also giving us a
better opportunity to create spectacular
visuals.

5. Music Video : Ideas
• At the start of the video, a character will light
a flare producing interesting lighting. At this
point, the song will be beginning to kick in.
While this flare is burning, the character will
‘trip’ turning the video into a disjuncture video.
The character will get sent into a ‘frenzy’ of
spontaneous but visually stimulating
experiences. Towards the end of the video,
the character will slip out of this ‘trip’ signaling
the cut back to the original location of the
character with a slowly dying flare.

6. Idea 1 : The Flare
• A visual representation of our flare idea,
taken from King Krule’s video for ‘Noose of
Jah City’.

7. Idea 2 : ‘Trips’
• The ‘trips’ are more visually exciting than
the start and end of the video, so we have
picked out some ideas from existing
videos which we think would provoke a
reaction from our audience.
