2. FITNESS
Exercise… is it worth it?
Is time spent exercising really
worth it? Many feel they get
enough exercise during their
day. Others feel they don’t need
to lose weight, and therefore
they don’t PERSONAL TRAINER
need to exercise.
On the other hand, some just
simply don’t like to exercise or
say they can’t find the time. The
“reasons” can go on and on—
but we are designed to live and
move!
According to the Surgeon
AWARD
General’s Report on Physical
Activity and Health, “Significant
health benefits can be obtained
by including a moderate amount
of physical activity on most,
if not all, days of the week.
Through a modest increase in
daily activity, most Americans
can improve their health and
quality of life.”
LIFE STORY
The Senior Fitness Association
also states that exercise can help
control blood pressure, foster
heart health, regulate blood
sugars, and relieve stress and
increase energy levels.
We could read evidence all
day long, but we all know the
PERSONAL CARE
importance of moving and
exercising. So put the “reasons”
aside, and let us help you find
the joy in staying fit. We can
help create a personal program
for you and introduce you to

Take a NeuroCom® Balance
Master® assessment
If you have experienced a recent
fall, feel unsteady on your feet,
have spells of dizziness, or have
other reason to believe you
might have a balance problem,
you should talk to your doctor.
Assisted by the medical history
provided by your doctor, the
club can offer you an assessment
to determine your ability to
maintain your balance, as well
as your risk of falling. The
Balance Master is an assessment
and rehabilitation system and
one of the most advanced tools
of its kind. Through interactive
computer technology, this
system objectively identifies
and evaluates each individual’s
unique balance and movement
patterns. Using this information,
the equipment-trained fitness
expert can then design a
customized treatment plan.
For more information and to

A GLANCE AT OCTOBER
Look for more photos on Facebook.
Residents and staff took on the challenge of collecting a gift for each child at Nokomis. Touchmark is the only
company to successfully gather 160 presents—one for each child. From a giving teepee to the big delivery
day, this epitomized the season of giving.
Kent Ellis, son of resident Cec
Ellis, talked about North Dakota oil,
including its history, the extraction
process, tools, and more. He even
brought samples of the layers of
ground they go through to get the
oil in the Bakken area.
