  10. Integration Services Open architectures allows Questudio’s software to seamlessly integrate into existing ERP, CRM and other systems. We bring extensive experience along with tool-kits to bear in all our integration projects. Questudio leverages existing procurement, inventory, order and customer management systems. Product information often resides in multiple applications and there is a need to keep them in sync. Related information such as inventory and order status are also required to be displayed on-demand within the website. In most situations, there is no one method of integration available. Questudio performs analysis of customer environment and requirements and proposes multiple options to choose from. Options include simple file based integration to real-time XML based integration depending upon the critical nature of the information and the frequency of changes. The report is created by aggregating the content from these systems and presenting them in a pre-determined format. There is also an internal report (long-form) that is being generated using the same data used for collaboration purposes within the department. DelDOT has been using traditional methods such as spreadsheets to create this 800 page CTP report. This method consumed 4 to 6 months of intense effort and there were always errors involved in aggregatingthecontentandperformingcalculations of financial data to present in the report. DelDOT wanted a database driven system to replace their current manual process, which would enable them to automate the reporting process and make it error free.   11. Case Studies School-uniform time is one busy season for parents, children, and last but not the least uniform manufacturers/designers. One of the pioneers in School Uniforms in Rhode Island caters to the needs of hundreds of schools in the United States for their uniform supplies. During the uniform season, they send out custom catalogs to their target audience throughout the country. Customer contacted Questudio looking for an efficient way to customize catalogs. They wanted a system where they would be able to select a school from the database and within a couple of clicks be able to generate a mini catalog containing all the uniform details for Boys Girls from K to 12 grades. This includes the details of Summer Winter uniforms, their images, prices, School logos etc. Clothing Company Creates Custom Mini Catalogs In Just A Few Clicks With CatalogStudio’s in-built PDF generator, creating great-looking mini catalogs is as easy as the snap of a finger. Once you have a master template designed and saved in the template gallery, users can select the desired products using the PDF wizard, choose the appropriate template, and in a couple of clicks have a mini catalog pop up on the screen which can be shared, collaborated, emailed, thereby playing a role of a marketing tool. Questudio’s Catalog Experts designed a PDF template for Customer to be able to bind all the data from CatalogStudio and flow it into report which would come out in a format as desired by the company’s marketing team. Customer stores data in an ERP system which when exported does not come out in an easy-to-read flat format but in a CSV format. Nine CSV files would be exported from the system in a data extract, which were all interlinked. The name of schools would be coded in one of the CSV files and the actual names would be mapped on another CSV file. This applied to prices, images, description as well. They also had codes to mention whether the prices belong to the current uniform season or the new uniform season. This was quite challenging and in order to map the codes with the related fields, complex stored procedures had to be written and it went through an exhaustive round of testing. The below image gives one an idea of what the content looked like when it is exported from the ERP system to a CSV file. One of the requirements was that they should be able to clear out all the data from the database anytime a fresh import was done and only retain the data from the latest import as prices are constantly changing. This was done in a jiffy by the database experts in Questudio. At the end of the project, it was a job well done for Questudio and a step ahead for the Customer’s marketing team. A key part of the system is the integration of the CatalogStudio solution with the ORACLE-based systems in-place at DelDOT. Questudio’s technical team worked very closely with the customer’s IT team and defined the integration requirements, developed the interface design and implemented the data integration necessary for the success in producing the very critical CTP report. Using “data loader” module, information from different systems is easily loaded into the CatalogStudio database. The data load can be done on demand from the source systems. Using pre- built templates, the entire report of 800 pages is created with the current content within minutes. Multiple templates have been provided to enable the customer to create reports in different formats along with pictures and maps of the proposed project. For example, the long-form report provides the ability to review the reports and make corrections, well before the final CTP report is published. The Result Using CatalogStudio, the customer is now being able to create accurate reports with higher efficiencies. This has significantly improved the previous process that used to take 4 to 6 months. Since all the data is being imported electronically into CatalogStudio, user errors are avoided and the automation of the reports avoids calculation or formatting errors. With a central repository of content the customer can consider providing web access to transportation project details in the State of Delaware. State of Delaware’s Department of Transportation uses Questudio’s CatalogStudio to manage transportation project content and publish the Capital Transportation Program (CTP) report on an annual basis.

ICD Case Study Industrial Controls Distributors Successfully Juggles Specification Schemas From Over 100 Manufacturers Creating the first edition of a 1,200 page printed catalog is a daunting task. Creating a technical catalog containing a wide range of products manufactured by over 100 partners, each with their own unique information schemas, is even more complex. As catalog content manager Kathleen Lippencott described, “It seems that our products not only looks different, but they all require a different approach for storing and presenting the data. Some products required configuration, some required dimensional drawing libraries, and some required multidimensional charts. ICDapproachedQuestudioin2009withalistoftheir most popular 100,000 SKUs. The specifications and advertising materials for the products was scattered all over the organization in engineering books, internal and external websites, CDs, PCs, and in loose specification sheets. ICD wanted to organize the information into one central repository, which would then be used to drive their catalog, website, and internal information needs. “Our products are engineered,” said Lippencott. “It really takes someone with solid background in our industry to understand what goes into selecting and configuring a product. With Questudio’s specific expertise in this area, we were able to simplify and standardize our product selection data.” Questudio’s Product Information Management (PIM) experts were able to identify patterns that existed across different sources of content. During the information architecture phase of the project, Questudio sampled products from every product category and manufacturer. The goal was to define the format in which data would be stored, how the fields would be labeled with standardized labels, and which design templates would be used for catalog and website pages. By assigning attributes to products, or by listing them in an attribute table, one can differentiate between them. When integrating products from multiple manufacturers into one system, the attributes and values had to be standardized. For example, one manufacturer assigned “Feedback” attributes to products while another assigned “Output” attributes. Since these are essentially the same thing, a common convention had to be applied so that they could be combined in one table or search. In September of 2010, ICD delivered their first full-line catalog to their existing customers in the pharmaceutical, food, power, wastewater, and commercial HVAC markets. The response from customers was tremendous.

EDI Case Study A major Industrial Tools supplier situated on the east coast chose Questudio’s CatalogStudio (PIM) to manage its content and WebStudio to publish the contents in their new website. One of the requirements for the new website was that WebStudio should have the ability to communicate with Eclipse EDI to synchronize the ordering system. For this Questudio had to do an integration between Eclipse and WebStudio Questudio’s Service team expedited the content extraction work from various websites provided by the customer and the same was organized in a structured way in CatalogStudio. Once this was completed, Questudio’s WebStudio implementation team connected to the database where the data was stored and created a link between the new website and the database. The User Interface was designed by the creative team and handed over for implementation in parallel. Once the website was setup using WebStudio’s templates and engine, the team went ahead and configured the admin module for Customer This is where the integration between Eclipse and WebStudio took place. Questudio’s WebStudio has a in-built inventory management system which manages the inventory of products in the website. Once customers browse through the website, they have an option to shop online using the shopping cart by logging in using their unique ID. Once customers are done with their shopping and have submitted their order, WebStudio will generate an order in the form prescribed by EDI and place it the FTP provided and display the status as ‘Order Placed’ in the order history panel. EDI in turn checks the FTP every 5 mins and sees if there are any new orders. On receipt of a new order placed in the FTP by WebStudio, Eclipse takes it for further processing. Once the order has been accepted by Eclipse a response is sent back to WebStudio with the status as “Order Confirmed” and subsequently “Order Shipped” On a run-time basis, constant interaction takes place between EDI and WebStudio to see if any orders are placed or processed and displays the information in the website accordingly. Integrating EDI with WebStudio was done seamlessly with the support of the customer and web-implementation team.
