THE INCA TRAIL 4/DAYS AND 3/NIGHTS

Itinerary:

Trips to Machu Picchu

First Day

We are going to pick you up from your hotel between 6:00 and 6:30 am in our private
transportation. The bus will take us to the 82 km mark (93019 feet above sea level). This is the
start of the trail. There we will have time to put in order our backpacks and receive all the
details of the Inkatrail , the principal rules and recommendations.

You will walk for about two hours until you get to the first archeological complex ( PataLlacta)
where your tour guide will provide you with a complete explanation. After lunch, you will have
time to take a rest and then we will continue for about three hours until we reach the
campsite (Huayllabanba or Uncachimpa ), both of which are located at about 3000 to 3200
meters above sea level. There you will receive a hot drink and dinner.

Second DayTrips to Machu Picchu

After the hot wake up call drink, you will have enough time to pack your backpacks and eat
breakfast. This is the most difficult day and it will be important to walk at your own pace. You
will walk up through the Huayruro Valley for about three or four hours to get to
Huarmihuñuska (or the Dead Woman’s Pass) which is 4200 meters above sea level at the top.
As you hike you will enjoy the view of the surrounding snowcapped mountains. This part of the
hike will take between three and five hours depending on your ability. From the top it will take
one more hour to descend into the Pacaymayu Valley. This is where we will have lunch, and
again you can take a rest if you wish. After this we will keep going to our campsite
(Runcuraccay) located at 3800 meters above sea level. There you will receive a hot drink and
dinner, as well as an explanation from your tour guide about the archeological complex
Runcuraccay.
Third DayTrips to Machu Picchu

Morning ritual again includes a wake up call with a nice hot drink. While fixing up all our stuff
and having breakfast our guide will explain the archeological complex of the same name. We
will keep climbing up, but not as the second day because from 3800 m.a.s.l we will get to 3980
m.a.s.l.. This is the second high pass and from this point you can see another chain of
mountains (VILCABAMBA) with the highest peak in this chain being PUMASILLU or PUMAS
NAIL. All these mountains belong to the oriental chain of mountains in the southern Andes.

After enjoying the panorama we start going down for one hour until we arrive at the third
archeological complex (SAYACMARCA). You will have the explanation of our guide, then you
will keep going for another half hour until arriving to CHAQUICOCHA (or DRY LAGOON) for
lunch. Here, there are toilet facilities. After lunch, you may take a nap if you wish. Then we
keep going up, and it is not hard to get to the third pass PHUYUPATAMARKA (or VILLAGE
ABOVE THE CLOUDS) After this complex we are again in the sacred valley. We will need two
hours more to get to our third camping site WIÑAY WAYNA (young for ever) with the
archeological complex of the same name and an easier part of the trail (2750 m.a.s.l.) Hot
drink, dinner.

Fourth Day

Trips to Machu Picchu - Intihuatana

This day is the most important day because we will get to the place of our dreams. For this, we
will wake up at 4:00am.and leave the camping site at 5:00 a.m. after breakfast. We will walk
up for an hour and a half to get to the INTI PUNKU (or SUN GATE) at 3000 m.a.s.l.. We will
enjoy the sun rise onto MACHUPICCHU and after we will go down for a half hour more to get
to the archeological complex. Before we go for the guided tour we will register and use toilets.
The tour will be approx. 2 hours with the same guide from the Inka trail. After the tour you will
have about 5 hours to spend by yourself. You can choose to visit the WAYNA PICCHU mountain
or (young mountain),

(THE MOON TEMPLE) or the (INKA BRIDGE).

We will then go down to AguasCalientes where the train station and the hot springs are. About
5: 45 p.m. we take the train back to Cusco in the back packer class.

The bus will take us to the 82 km mark (93019 feet above sea level). This is the start of the trail. There we will have time to put in order our backpacks and receive all the details of the Inkatrail , the principal rules and recommendations. You will walk for about two hours until you get to the first archeological complex ( PataLlacta) where your tour guide will provide you with a complete explanation. After lunch, you will have time to take a rest and then we will continue for about three hours until we reach the campsite (Huayllabanba or Uncachimpa ), both of which are located at about 3000 to 3200 meters above sea level. There you will receive a hot drink and dinner. Second DayTrips to Machu Picchu After the hot wake up call drink, you will have enough time to pack your backpacks and eat breakfast. This is the most difficult day and it will be important to walk at your own pace. You will walk up through the Huayruro Valley for about three or four hours to get to Huarmihuñuska (or the Dead Woman’s Pass) which is 4200 meters above sea level at the top. As you hike you will enjoy the view of the surrounding snowcapped mountains. This part of the hike will take between three and five hours depending on your ability. From the top it will take one more hour to descend into the Pacaymayu Valley. This is where we will have lunch, and again you can take a rest if you wish. After this we will keep going to our campsite (Runcuraccay) located at 3800 meters above sea level. There you will receive a hot drink and dinner, as well as an explanation from your tour guide about the archeological complex Runcuraccay.
  • 2. Third DayTrips to Machu Picchu Morning ritual again includes a wake up call with a nice hot drink. While fixing up all our stuff and having breakfast our guide will explain the archeological complex of the same name. We will keep climbing up, but not as the second day because from 3800 m.a.s.l we will get to 3980 m.a.s.l.. This is the second high pass and from this point you can see another chain of mountains (VILCABAMBA) with the highest peak in this chain being PUMASILLU or PUMAS NAIL. All these mountains belong to the oriental chain of mountains in the southern Andes. After enjoying the panorama we start going down for one hour until we arrive at the third archeological complex (SAYACMARCA). You will have the explanation of our guide, then you will keep going for another half hour until arriving to CHAQUICOCHA (or DRY LAGOON) for lunch. Here, there are toilet facilities. After lunch, you may take a nap if you wish. Then we keep going up, and it is not hard to get to the third pass PHUYUPATAMARKA (or VILLAGE ABOVE THE CLOUDS) After this complex we are again in the sacred valley. We will need two hours more to get to our third camping site WIÑAY WAYNA (young for ever) with the archeological complex of the same name and an easier part of the trail (2750 m.a.s.l.) Hot drink, dinner. Fourth Day Trips to Machu Picchu - Intihuatana This day is the most important day because we will get to the place of our dreams. For this, we will wake up at 4:00am.and leave the camping site at 5:00 a.m. after breakfast. We will walk up for an hour and a half to get to the INTI PUNKU (or SUN GATE) at 3000 m.a.s.l.. We will enjoy the sun rise onto MACHUPICCHU and after we will go down for a half hour more to get to the archeological complex. Before we go for the guided tour we will register and use toilets. The tour will be approx. 2 hours with the same guide from the Inka trail. After the tour you will have about 5 hours to spend by yourself. You can choose to visit the WAYNA PICCHU mountain or (young mountain), (THE MOON TEMPLE) or the (INKA BRIDGE). We will then go down to AguasCalientes where the train station and the hot springs are. About 5: 45 p.m. we take the train back to Cusco in the back packer class. About tha Prices Note:
