  10. 10. 5 simple things you can do right now ● Virtual coffee - online coffee meeting room that is open to everybody all. ● AMA - Call out people to do AMA’s on topics related or unrelated to work. ● Wellness channel - dedicate a channel to wellness and fitness ● Recognitions - celebrate and recognise great work and effort ● Small ideas - get your people to contribute small ideas to create 1% improvements
  11. 11. Virtual Coffee ● Dedicate a channel #virtual-coffee to people calling other people for coffee at any time ● Pin the meeting link on this channel to ensure everyone knows where to login ● Set up a reminder to be posted on #general at Xpm everyday calling everyone to come for coffee (use soft language like ‘who’s up for a virtual coffee’?) https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20160112-in-sweden-you-have-to-stop-work-to-chat
  12. 12. Ask Me Anything When people discuss their interests, they form bonds and are more likely to make non linear associations. The easiest way to kickstart serendipity is to let people do AMAs. 1. Invite a person to do an AMA. 2. Set up a live meeting or an online chat session for this. 3. Do this 2 or 3 times and then hopefully people will take over.
  13. 13. Wellness Doing physical exercises together can be a great way to bond and foster trust. All the armies of the world are built on this concept :) Not to mention physical fitness is linked to feeling happier. 1. Start a #wellness channel to discuss ideas to remain healthy. Let people inspire each other on their habits. 2. Use group challenges like daily step counts, lifting weights together, mindfulness exercises, etc.
  14. 14. Recognitions Whatever you celebrate or recognise becomes your culture. Slack is a great way to celebrate wins. Use Slackbot custom responses and a simple Zap to pick up and record all recognitions for your team members on Slack. -> live demo.
  15. 15. Small ideas Tiny improvements, coming from people, go a long way in setting up engaged and productive workplaces. When people take ownership and contribute to these tiny improvements, they feel a higher sense of purpose. Link to HBR article https://hbr.org/2008/02/when-small-ideas-add-up-to-som 1. Dedicate a channel to #small-ideas 2. Set up a simple workflow that takes in the idea and possible impact to give ideas a structure 3. Post ideas to the channel and let people vote on these ideas
