2. What is Wikipedia (1)?
• An online encyclopedia that is added to by millions worldwide
and edited by many others to be kept accurate and highly
informative.
3. What is Wikipedia (2) ?
• Wikipedia has become the world’s dominant educational
resource, with over four million articles in the English
language edition that reach hundreds of millions of readers.
4. Problems
• Wikipedia is known for not always being the most
reliable resource because it is open to the public and
even though its maintained nobody can guarantee
that the page you are reading has been checked for
wrong information.
5. Why it will complete 1
• Encyclopedias have a limit to what information
can be added to it and Wikipedia has over 4
million pages and the rate of growth has slowed
greatly over the years
6. Why it will complete 2
• Once the amount of subjects added reaches
the point where there are no more pages to
be added activity will slow and it may become
a reliable complete encyclopedia after its
carefully worked through and reviewed.
