2. Name: CMB ADI (CMB Analytics Data Infrastructure Site Deployment Briefing UK)
The Vision to have a single data infrastructure to support multiple business requirements from multiple
business groups with single table structure for multiple countries data are put together in a single data
store, with same data structure. Data access c ontrol layer implemented by database view, governing
data access by countries, regional and global level. The main aim of project is to provide a set of
interface files for the CMB ADI UK deployment created from data sent to the UK BI landing area. The
data will be sourced from incoming files as received from the various source systems rather than
UKDW. This is to enable the interface files to contain data fields which are present on the source files
but not loaded into the UKDW in the current processing.
The proposed physical solution for the CMB ADI project is deployed to the UK BI GRID server rather
SMP server.

● Business Intelligence Data acquisition and analytics (BI DA&A):
BI DA&A is the enterprise data warehouse solution for HSBC bank Plc, UK based on Type 2 and
Type 4 SCD designs. It is a combination of EDW and data marts of small to medium complexity to
meet the growing business demand and the ever changing regulatory environment. It is a massive
growth environment with current size pegged at 70+ TB.
Responsible for resolution of daily batch incidents.
Responsible for the production support of BIDA&A batch and L2 support for user queries/
Incidents. The batch composes of 10k+ Control-M jobs on its peak day
Provide on-call support for the service outside office hours.
Work on the problem tickets assigned which may involve code change, version controlling,
testing, raising change orders, seeking approval and live deployment.
Redesigned the daily account balance load batch and Credit card data load batch. The batch
completion for either of them was brought forward by 2 hours.
In Teradata performance tuning has optimized SQL queries consuming to the tune of 2
million CPU seconds and brought down to few 100 CPU seconds. Considerations have
been removing product join, Full table scan, repartitioning, PI, Range partition.
Created UNIX shell script to capture datastage logs into a file without opening a director.
Worked extensively on data quality issues in analysis of the issues, identification of the root
cause, solution proposal and implementation.

The FSA directed HSBC along with other major banks, to make provision to be able to access the Bank
of England’s Discount Window Facility by pre-positioning collateral with bank of England. The scope of
the project was to provide an extract with all the data attributes required which includes all mandatory
and non-mandatory fields where data is available and/or feasible to collate.
