3. What is Pinterest
is a social networking site that allows users to create
and manage a collection of photos of specific
interests, events, or categories.

4. Definition of Terms
PINS – are visual bookmarks for good stuff you find
anywhere around the web or right on Pinterest
BOARDS – are where you collect Pins by theme or topic
REPIN – is reposting a photo from another user

5. Creating an Account
Log on to https://www.pinterest.com.

6. Creating an Account
Click on Sign up with Email.

7. Creating an Account
Fill out the details.
First Name Last Name
Password
Gender
Email Address
Location
Mark the tick box.

8. Creating an Account
Click on Sign Up.
Click on Sign Up

9. Creating an Account
Pinterest takes you to a tour. Just click on Next.

10. Creating an Account
To end the tour, Pinterest asks you to search for
your interest. Type in the topic of your interest.

Pins related to this topic will appear.

12. How Does Pinterest Work
Now that pins of your
interest are laid out, you
can start pinning! Hover
over the top left corner
of the image. Click on
the Pin It button.

Name your board then click on the Pin It button.

pin! You can enlarge
the photo by clicking
on it.

And when you click on the enlarged photo, you
will be directed to the website source of the
photo.

16. Installing the Pin It Button
The Pin It Button allows you to grab images from
other websites and pin them to your pin boards.

17. Installing the Pin It Button
To be able to pin images from other websites, we
need to install the Pin It Button.

Go to about.pinterest.com/goodies/

19. Installing the Pin It Button
Click on Install Now.

20. Installing the Pin It Button
Click on Add.

21. Installing the Pin It Button
The Pin It Button gets added on top.

22. Installing the Pin It Button
When you want to pin an image from another
website, just click on the Pin It Button.
The image gets pinned on the pin board of your choice.

Hover over the image you want to pin and click on the
Pin It Button.

24. Installing the Pin It Button
A new window comes out. Select the pin board you
want the image to belong to. Change the description if
you like then click on the Pin It Button.

25. You now know the
basics of Pinterest!
