5. In June 2001 she was elected head of the Executive
Committee of the National Commission for Culture and
the Arts-National Committee on Libraries and
Information Services (NCCA-NCLIS) until 2004
6. As a member of the DLSU ranked faculty, she was active as a Board director
of the Faculty Association, contributing her skill and expertise in negotiating
for a new Faculty Manual (1993 and (2002) as a member of the Technical Panel
for its Revision. She was the first faculty to be promoted to the highest rank
for non-teaching faculty ~ as Associate Professor, Rank 3-5 in 2003.
7. Took her oath as licensed librarian in February
1994 and joined PLAI in 1995 as a member of the
Board.
In 2000 she was elected President of PLAI and
represented the organization at the 11th CONSAL
in Singapore.
She was Chair of the Program
Committee for the 13th CONSAL
held in Manila in 2006.
She received numerous
awards from PLAI
including the Hall of Fame
in 2008 as its own
hallmark of professional
excellence for having been
consistently recognized
for professionalism,
leadership and service.
8. She joined PAARL as
PRO in 1997 and
became its President
also in 2000
concurrently as PLAI
President.
She was awarded by PAARL
as Outstanding Academic
Librarian in 1996 and
received numerous Service
Awards, culminating in the
Lifetime Achievement
Award in 2007 as its own
hallmark of professional
excellence.
9. Finally, her lifetime achievements were recognized in June
2006 by the Professional Regulation Commission when she
was awarded the Outstanding Professional Librarian of
the year, a month after her retirement from DLSU.

•Her recent paper on “Library Automation And Its Impact On Strategic Planning
For Academic Libraries” appeared as an electronic publication of Asian Libraries, a
quarterly publication of MCB University Press (1997). Other articles appeared in
the Asia Library News, namely: “Occupational Safety and Health Concerns in
Library Work Places”, and “The State of the Filipiniana Collections at DLSU
Library”.
15. As Social network advocate
Created PAARL Yahoogroup, an e-discussion
group whose membership has grown to more than
1,200 in May 2005 . When she joined Facebook in
2007, she created a group page for PAARL, and fan
pages for PAARL and the DLSU-Manila University
Library.
In February 2008, she created
the first-of-its-kind Wiki for
PAARL, and created a fan page
for PAARLWiki at FB. In 2009,
she created the official website
for PAARL at Google Sites.
16. In November 2011, she started using
Scoop.it, curating materials for The
Future Librarian (on librarianship) and PAARL official website
Campus Life (for DLSU).
In January 2012, she also began
using Pinterest and created 5
pinboards (On Libraries-
Museums-Archives, On Library
Events, and other interests).
