3. ANIMAL TISSUES
The human body is composed of billions of cells to
perform various functions. In multicellular animals, a
group of similar cells along with intracellular sub an
organisation called tissues. Tissues are different and are
broudly classified in to four types
1. Epithelial tissue
2. connective tissue
3. Muscular tissue
4. Neural Tissue.

4. EPITHELIAL TISSUE
we commonly ruler to an
epithelial tissue epitheliam.
This tissue has a free surgace,
which faces either a body fluid
or the outside environment.
and thus provides a covering
or a lining for some part of the
body. They are two types.

5. SIMPLE EPITHELIUM
Simple epithelium is composed
of a single layer of cells and
function as a living for body
cavities, ducts and tubes.
Simple epithelium is divided into
3 types:- Squamom epithelium,
Cuboidal epithelium, Columnar
epithelium

6. COMPOUND EPITHELIUM
It is made up of more than one layer of cells
and thus has a limited role in secretion and
absorption. their main function is to provide
protection against chemical and mechanical
stresses.

7. CONNECTIVE TISSUE
They are named connective
tissues, because of their
special function of linking and
supporting other tissues or
organs of the body.

8. Connective tissues are classified in to three types.
they are:
1. Loose connective tissue
2. Dense connective tissue
3. Specialised connective tissue

9. LOOSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
It has cells and fibers loosely
arranged in a semi-fluid ground
substances.
Eg: Areolar tissue

10. DENSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
Fibers and fibroblasts are compactly
packed in this sense connective tissue.
Orientation of fibers show a regular or
irregular pattern and are called dense
regular and are called dense regular and
dense irregular tissues.

11. SPECILISED CONNECTIVE TISSUE
This tissue is present in
the skin, cartilage, bones
and blood

12. Bones: Have a hard and non- pliable grand substance
rich in calcium salts and collagen fibers which
give bone its strength.
Cartilage: is solid and pliable and resist compression.
Blood: is fluid connective tissue containing plasma, red
blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC) and
platelets.

13. MUSCLE TISSUE
It is made up of many long cylindrical
fibers arranged in parallel arrays.
Muscles are of three types, they are
Skeletal Muscle, Smooth Muscle,
Cardiac muscle.

14. Skeletal Muscle: tissue is closely attached to
skeletal bones
Smooth Muscle: Fiber taper at both ends and do not
show striations.
Cardiac Muscle tissue: is a contractile tissue
present only in the heart.

15. NEURAL TISSUE
Neural tissue exerts the greatest
control over the body’s
responsiveness to changing
conditions. Neurons, the unit of
neural system are excitable cells.
