  2. Social responsibility contends that management is responsible to the organization itself and to all the interest groups with which it interacts. Other interest groups such as workers, customers, creditors, suppliers, government and society in general placed essentially equal with shareholders

  7. 1. Fair wages and salaries. 2. Good & safe working condition. 3. Opportunities for education training & promotion. 4. Workers participation in decision making 5. Reasonable and proper chance for promotion 6. Proper recognition, appreciation and encouragement of skills. 7. The installation of efficient grievance handling system.

  12. 1. Adopt a Village To make a long term and sustainable impact in the core areas supported by iCare, CSR at Canon India has adopted a village to develop and strengthen Eye Care facilities and Education in the community. Ferozpur Namak village is situated in Mewat district, Haryana. The implementing partner for the project is CAF India with direct support in the village from NGO SARD and ICARE Hospital in Noida.
  13. 2. Education Canon India is supporting the local government school at village Ferozpur Namak. The objective of the education project is to improve enrolment of children in the school and deliver quality education.. The school suffers from low attendance and enrolment rates. This project includes establishment of a learning centre with education aids, toys, a library and organizing teacher’s training in the school. Canon is also supporting infrastructural development of the school like constructing toilets for girls, improve source of drinking water through pipelines, taps, installing ceiling fans in all classrooms and providing benches for the children.
  14. 3.Free Mobile Eye Screening Camps Eye care is a cause close to Canon's core philosophy. Canon and Wockhardt Foundation came together to diagnose people with Cataract, Glaucoma and other eye related problems and provide free medical treatment and operation. Within a span of 5 months, approx. 3500 people were screened in six locations across India including Mumbai, Aurangabad, Amethi, Pondicherry, Chennai and Lucknow
  15. 4. Open schools for disadvantaged children Canon and Ship for World Youth Alumni Association–India (SWYAA-India) have set up twelve open schools to educate over 1000 disadvantaged children in the age group of 4 to 14 years living in eight slum clusters in New Delhi. The project goal is to help economically disadvantaged children to get quality education in these open schools. The schools provide basic primary level education as per the school syllabus so that the children are able to enter the school system and get enrolled in the government primary schools.
  16. 5.Environmental Project Canon India has supported an eco-drive – Project "Vriksha“ .Canon India has also adopted green belts near its corporate office where thousands of plants and trees have been planted by the employee volunteers.
  17. 6. Blood donation camps Blood donation camps have been organised in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Gurgaon offices in association with NTR Blood Bank, Sankalp India Foundation and Indian Red Cross Society.The event has received an overwhelming response from the employees.
  18. 7. Collection drives Canon India organized collection drives. The collection drives aim to provide clothing to the poor. The employee's whole heartedly donated clothes, toys, stationary, footwear, and bed sheets. An organization tour was also arranged for the volunteers to get exposed to over 70 people who are engaged into rigorous process of sorting, mending, and packing of the different kind of material that comes to the organization
  19. 8.Marathons  The objective of these events was to create awareness towards good health and AIDS.
  20. 9.Photography classes for visually impaired Canon India supported a six months training programme conduct photography classes for approx. 560 visually impaired from different parts of the country.. Local sighted photographers were trained under "Train the Trainer" program on the methodology to teach photography to the visually impaired.
  21. 10. Partner with UNESCO UNESCO INDIA – MY COUNTRY'S WORLDHERITAGE Canon India supported the My Country's World Heritage initiative by UNESCO India, with the objective to create awareness and sensitize the masses, especially children and youth about the importance and relevance of the world heritage today. The objective was also to create interest amongst students towards our heritage and history using photography as a medium of communication to voice their concern towards the preservation and importance of these sites and our environment.
