strategies to meet your goals. For an example if you are trying to reach a young
audience email marketing would not be very successful.
8. How to be Successful
When marketing you have to have your target audience in mind. Let’s take Nike
for an example. Nike is an athletic brand that creates primarily shoe ware and
clothes for athletes. This means that its target audience will be younger and
athletic people who enjoy sports.
Since Nike knows its target audience well, it knows that putting Lebron James on
a Nike ad will perform well. It also knows that since the majority of young people
use social media then there focus should be on social media advertising and
website development. If you know your target audience than digital marketing is a
breeze.
9. Traditional Marketing
Traditional marketing is any form of marketing that is not online. This means
that print, broadcast, tv, direct mail, and phone. This marketing is still used to
this day but is somewhat starting to go away because of the internet, and the
widespread digit marketing.
Like digital marketing this form of marketing aims to reach the same goal of
advertising an idea, or product.
Traditional marketing is used widely by smaller businesses and rarely by
large companies. Smaller companies can use traditional marketing methods
like flyers and print because it is generally cheap, and larger companies can
get adds on tv and radio stations that help advertise their product or service.
10. Types of Traditional Marketing
Outdoor marketing - this include billboards, posters, taxis, and cars.
Broadcasting - Television ads, radio shows.
Print - Magazines, newspapers, flyers, brochures.
Mail - catalogus, newsletters
Telemarketing - phone calls, and text messages.
11. Why is Traditional Marketing Important
Traditional Marketing plays an important role in reaching local audiences and
interacting with customers on a personal level. Today's consumers rely on
relationships more than ever. As a result, your efforts to reach your target
audience feel more organic and less corporate.
Many people enjoy traditional marketing because it is usually found on tv, and
radio stations. This are usually funny or unique ads that people enjoy watching
and they make people want to buy a product or service. Take the superbowl
commercials for an example. Everyone loves tuning in during half time to watch
the commercials.
12. Traditional Versus Digital Marketing
Traditional and Digital marketing are similar in there goal to reach out to an
audience, but they differ in the fact that digital marketing is any marketing done
online and traditional marketing is anything done offline.
As far as effectiveness both strategies are very good for different situations.
Different companies can utilize this strategies to be effective. Smaller business
can use traditional marketing to create a nice brand for there company and then
eventually get to a successful social media platform. Larger companies that
already have a reputation can utilize social media to keep pushing their brand on a
mainstream level.
