20091215 – Creativity in Effective Teaching - Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad.
Creativity in Effective Teaching was the topic for one of the sessions in the
Staff Development Programme on “Enhancing Professional and Instructional Skills of Young Faculty” [from 11-12-2009 to 18-12-2009].
Everyone is creative – Teachers must be more so. Teaching must be effective. Creativity improves effectiveness. Teachers must be motivated to continuously search for opportunities to improve creativity in their presentations. Further, they must motivate the students to improve their creativity. This was the main theme of the presentation.
Five Power Point presentations were used:
20091215 – [1] – Creativity
20091215 – [2] – Effective Teaching
20091215 – [3] – Creativity
20091215 – [4] – Excellence, Creativity and Effective Teaching
20091215 – [5] – Some points for Discussion
The lecture was mainly in English, but keeping in view, the nature of the topic and a particular point to be stressed, Telugu / Hindi were also liberally used.
The live recording of the speech can be listened to / downloaded, by visiting www.archive.org and searching for Prof. V. Viswanadham, [and locating this particular item]. Further, if the displayed results are sorted by date added, it would be easier to locate this particular speech.
It would be better to have a view of the power point presentations, either before or while listening to the uploaded audio version. The power point presentations can be viewed at www.scribd.com (please search for Viswam.vangapally4581), and / or www.slideshare.net/viswanadham. It would be better to download and then view the presentations, because the animations can be better seen.
There are many other speeches on related topics, along with power point presentations, and all these can be freely listened to / viewed at the sites referred above. You would definitely find some variety and difference in the presentation – as I consider it my duty to make the presentations in a different manner, each time the topic is discussed. This is only to assure you that you can take the risk of listening to the lectures on the same topic given to different audiences, at different places.
It is also added that you may feel free and make unrestricted use of the power point presentations. Please help me to reach your friends, through you, so that my idea of motivating teachers to become better teachers can reach many more interested persons.
Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
