Session Abstract: The Internet connected everybody; the Cloud enables collaboration between every organisation. Identity management is an issue for everyone. This panel examines the Jericho Forum’s Identity Commandments and how they will enable better business. The panel includes speakers from diverse backgrounds – outlining the issues today and offering insights into delivering an identity solution for tomorrow. Session Classification: General Interest Prerequisite knowledge: The audience should have a good understanding of identity management including authentication, authorisation and access control mechanisms. They should also have a rudimentary understanding of federated identity, user-centric identity and ideally have come across issues relating to identification in a collaborative environment. Session learning objectives: This panel session will provide lively discussion and will demonstrate why existing identity and access management solutions are becoming inadequate in today’s collaborative and cloud-enabled business environment. By examining case-studies from banking, FMCG and academia it will identify how businesses want to work in the future and how identity is at the centre of both the problem and the solution. It will identify the risks and consequences of getting identity wrong and the effect it will have on both business and the customer. The panel will finish by analysing the Jericho Forum’s Identity Commandments and demonstrate how they can be used to create a more secure, scalable and agile IT environment in the future. An identity practitioner will apply the new commandments to current best practices in order to recommend an approach that all attendees can take back to their workplace.
