Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world.
"Extreme Makeover of the Mind"
'Basic Training for Followers of Christ
If we have the truth available to us but choose to ignore it, then we
are not living up to God's expectations and direction. We are lost.
Pastor Rick Vinther
In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, he admonishes them to not live the
ways of the world anymore (like the Gentiles).
"... they base their lives on pointless thinking, and they are in the dark
in their reasoning."
Ephesians 4:17-18
Paul reminds them that they [we] have learned a new way of living in
Christ
"... you didn't learn that sort of thing from Christ. Since you really
listened to him and you were taught the truth is in Jesus, change the
former way of life that was part of the person you once were,
corrupted by deceitful desires."
Ephesians 4:20-22
You are a new creation ... a new person in Christ.
"Instead, renew the thinking of your mind by the Spirit and clothe
yourself with the new person created according to God's image in
justice and holiness."
Ephesians 4:23-24
Paul identifies five different sins we are to avoid.
2. 1. Lying
2. Anger
3. Stealing
4. Foul words
5. Bitterness
Bitterness grieves God. Kindness, compassion and forgiveness pleases
God.
Be a bearer of Christ's Light by the "extreme makeover of your mind".
