Jealousy
Prov 6:34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare
in the day of vengeance.
1Cor 10:22 Do we provokethe Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than
he?
Do We ProvokeThe Lord To Jealousy?
How do we provokeHim to Jealousy?
What happens if we do?
Exod 34:14 For thou shalt worshipno other god: for the LORD, whose
name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
We can provokeHim by worshiping other gods.
Exod 20:4-5 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or
any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the
earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the
LORD thy God am a jealous God, visitingthe iniquityof the fathers
upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me;
Ps 78:58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and
moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
Ps 97:7 Confoundedbe all they that serve graven images, that boast
themselves of idols: worshiphim, all ye gods.
Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to
another, neither my praise to graven images.
We can provokeHim by giving praise and glory to another.
2. 2
Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth,
and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he
reserveth wrath for his enemies.
If we do it makes us His enemy and he will take vengeance.
Zeph 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver
them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole landshall be
devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a
speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Zeph 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day
that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the
nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Hell is not the totality of God’s wrath (hell is diluted with
brimstone); The Lake of Fire is God’s pure wrath of Jealousy.
1Cor 10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Yes, and No
History Past and present of God’sJealousy:
The Pagan Past
Ezek 8
1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day
of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me,
that the handof the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
2 Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearanceof fire: from the
appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even
upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine
head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and
brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner

gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of
jealousy, which provokethto jealousy.
4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, accordingto the
vision that I saw in the plain.
5 Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward
the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold
northwardat the gate of the altar this image of jealousyin the entry.
6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do?
even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here,
that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and
thou shaltsee greater abominations.
Satan’s seat (Ezek 8:3)
Rev 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's
seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even
in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among
you, where Satan dwelleth.
The Pope (claims to speak ex-cathedra- out of the seat)
John 17:11-12 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in
the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own
name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that
thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
2Cor 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blindedthe minds of them
which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the
image of God, should shine unto them.
Anti-Christ
Dan 3:1-2 1 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose
height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it
up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
Act 7:43
4. 4
2 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the
governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the
sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of
the image which Nebuchadnezzarthe king had set up.
2Thess 2:3-4 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall
not come, except there come a fallingawayfirst, and that man of sin be
revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is calledGod, or that is
worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,shewing
himself that he is God.
Rev 13:1-15 1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise
up out of the sea, havingseven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns
ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as
the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon
gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly
wound was healed: and all the worldwonderedafter the beast.
4 And they worshippedthe dragon which gave power unto the beast: and
they worshippedthe beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able
to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speakinggreat things and
blasphemies;and power was given unto him to continue forty and two
months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy againstGod, to blaspheme his
name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome
them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and
nations.
5. 5
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worshiphim, whose names are not
written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the
world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with
the sword must be killedwith the sword. Here is the patience and the faith
of the saints.
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two
horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and
causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worshipthe first beast,
whose deadly woundwas healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from
heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those
miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them
that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast,
which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the
image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would
not worshipthe image of the beast should be killed.

the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I

7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold
a hole in the wall.
8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had
digged in the wall, behold a door. Rev 3:20
6. 6
9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wickedabominations that
they do here.
10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creepingthings, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed
upon the wall round about.
11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house
of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniahthe son of Shaphan,
with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went
up.
12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of
the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his
imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the
earth.
The worship and admiration of an image is “imagination”
A basic training for imagination is listening to storytelling (narrative),
in which the exactness of the chosen words is the fundamental factor
to "evoke worlds". [Wikipedia]
Prov 6:16-18 16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an
abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocentblood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in
runningto mischief,
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as
God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and
their foolish heart was darkened.
2Cor 10:4-5 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pullingdown of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledgeof God, and bringinginto captivity every thought
to the obedience of Christ;

Col 3:5-6 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and
covetousness, which is idolatry:

disobedience:

Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he
reignedseventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose
out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name
was Naamah an Ammonitess.

fathers had done.

From His lighthouse evermore,
But to us He gives the keeping
Of the lights along the shore.

Let the lower lights be burning!
Send a gleam across the wave!

You may rescue, you may save.
2. Dark the night of sin has settled,
Loud the angry billows roar;
Eager eyes are watching, longing,
For the lights along the shore.

Some poor sailor, tempest-tossed,
Trying now to make the harbor,
In the darkness may be lost.
