Abstract
The
dissertation
will
focus
on
the
use
of
Augmented
Reality
(AR)
technique
that
have
been
used
in
the
museum
context
as
well
as
compare
the
differences
between
using
an
AR
based
application
and
traditional
technique
like
paper
printing.
Most
of
the
past
efforts
of
applying
new
technologies
in
the
museum
have
been
concentrated
on
how
to
model
the
heritage
or
simulating
the
history
itself,
which
may
lead
to
the
problem
of
overlooking
the
user’s
sense
while
experiencing
the
museum.
The
aim
of
the
study
is
to
discover
users’
feeling
of
immersion
in
the
sense
of
presence
within
the
museum
experience,
in
order
to
bridge
the
gaps
between
the
museum,
the
techniques,
and
the
users.
The
study
will
review
the
literature
to
investigate
insights
and
concerns
from
the
past
researches,
which
will
be
followed
by
a
series
of
questionnaires
and
semi-‐structured
interviews.
In
the
process
of
the
experiment,
both
the
control
group
and
the
experimental
group
will
be
asked
to
achieve
the
same
task,
for
the
comparison
of
exploring
the
differences
in
the
sense
of
experiencing
the
museum
by
using
different
approaches.
The
research
asks
to
what
extent
the
AR
might
be
used
by
the
museum
for
the
purpose
of
enhancing
users’
immersive
experience
in
the
sense
of
presence
within
the
museum
context.
In
this
case,
may
also
help
to
provide
future
studies
and
further
recommendation
about
investigating
the
relationship
between
the
museum
experience
and
new
digital
technologies
in
a
user-‐centered
perception.
