The company was founded in 1970 and is based in Columbus, Ohio. They have grown from a cottage industry to a global force in apparel sourcing and manufacturing. They have manufacturing operations and joint ventures in more than a dozen countries including China, Israel, Mexico, and Sri Lanka.<br />

About the role<br />Position :Director, Process Improvement Engineer <br />Industry : Apparel Manufacturing<br />We are seeking experienced process improvement engineers to drive performance improvement in production by increasing speed, productivity and inventory turns, while decreasing lead time and rework. <br />

Colombo, where most large businesses reside, is a bustling, modern city, with plenty of air conditioning to escape the high temperatures.<br />

Living & Working in Sri Lanka<br />*Expatriate concessions<br />Where the assessable income for any year of assessment of an individual consists solely of income from services rendered in Sri Lanka and does not exceed Rs.300,000/- then such income is exempt from tax.<br />Though an expatriate employee is deemed a Resident Person under the provisions of the Sri Lanka Tax Laws, he is taxed at the concessionary rate of 15% to 20% in the first 3 – 5 years.<br />Sri Lanka Economy: <br />Sri Lankan economy has registered a strong growth in the first decade of 21st century, despite suffering civil war from 1983 to 2009 and some major natural disasters. The gross domestic product of the country grew at an average rate of 5% during the war period. One of the major factors behind development and economic growth is government spending. Agricultural production, tourism, textile, apparel and tea export are the biggest economic boosters. Responsible for educating suppliers on manufacturing techniques and measures that lead to the </li></ul> end goal being reduced lead times<br /><ul><li>Responsible to work with suppliers and set achievable goals and action plans for improving </li></ul> manufacturing techniques that lead to reduced lead times<br /><ul><li>Responsible to set up calibration measures and training to ensure quick accurate decision making

  15. 15. Job Description<br /><ul><li>Maintain a technical education of the latest techniques and methods available to the textile/apparel industry
  16. 16. Be a positive, supportive partner, consistently demonstrating our shared values and high standards
  17. 17. Responsible for developing and monitoring production performance metrics for quality, delivery and cost
  18. 18. Responsible for creating current and future state Value Stream Maps to identify opportunities and create action plans
  19. 19. Lead process improvement initiatives to increase speed, productivity, throughput and inventory turns, as well as decrease lead time, rework and overall cycle times
  20. 20. Train, coach and facilitate process improvement methodologies throughout organization, including 5S – workplace organization, work balancing and flow, standard work, setup reduction, visual controls, material pull systems, total productive maintenance and error proofing
  21. 21. Engage employees in problem solving, decision making and executing plans to create and support a collaborative culture</li></li></ul><li>Requirements<br /><ul><li> A Science degree or an equivalent Business Management degree
  22. 22. Practical experience (minimum of 5 years) in Textile/Apparel manufacturing
  23. 23.
