4. BABU AND THE LION
ORIENTATION
One day, there was a slave whose name was Babu. His master was very, very
bad. You know, he often punched Babu and did not offer him food for days. Poor Babu!
So he escaped into a forest and slept in a cave.
COMPLICATION
Next morning, he heard a loud roar. In front of him...., at the mouth of the
cave..., was a very big lion. You see, Babu was scared to death! Kind of scary, isn’t it?
But he could not escape. But the lion didn’t attack him. It was tame. There was a large
thorn in its right front foot. The lion lookedat Babu. It seemed to say something
like:”Please help me. It’s very painful.” Babu walked bravely to the lion and pulled out
the thorn.
RESOLUTION
Babu and the lion turned out to be friends.

7. BEKANTAN
IDENTIFICATION
Have you ever heard about bbekantan? Well, I will tell you about it.
Bekantan is one kind of monkey in the world. It is only live in the borneo island
or well known as kalimantan. It lives inside of the jungle.
DESCRIPTION
Bekantan has special features than other monkey. It has a different
shape of nose. It hunts the food by group.
Nowadays, bekantan is rare. There are many hunter chase and sell this in the
black market. Though, indonesian government forbidden them but they still do
it. So, as young generation what will you do??? Of course we must keep the
bekantan in order to take care of them from the extinction.

9. A news item is a piece of writing about an important event or situation that takes place/ happens
on a particular day.
☆ Pourpose :
♥ To inform readers, listeners, viewers, about the news or event of the day and which are
confident news worthy for important.
☆ Generic Structure :
♥ News worthy event :
• News it self
• It is about the country/ city/ place where the events took place. Then, the
information on the who, when and the actual location of the events is presented.
♥ Background event :
• The thing that caused the event to event or why did the event or the news event
• This part is the body of the news item which tells in chronological order the events
thattook place. There may be general comments on the events and quotes from
people involved in the events.
♥ Sources :
• Where the journalist or reporter the news get from
• The event start to end. Commend from the public, like the witnesses, the police or
the experts are usually included.
